The only way xperia can get that much overall score is if they add extra points for cinealta app.... which I doubt...
Asus doesn't have zoom lens.
1080 default mean low video score making 119 overall score even more less likely.
What matters more these days are the processing algorithms. A tripod alone can't do that.
Also xperia 1 has OIS now so it can handle low light unlike before.
Can't say for zoom quality but the benchmark here is P30pro in order to get a higher score.
As for bokeh, xperia still feels dated.... |

S10+ has 97 video using Full HD 30.
S10g has 100 using 4K.
P30 Pro has 97 using FHD30.
Video is 1/3 of final score.
It gave 1 point more for S10g
Regular app still has 4K HDR. They can set as default.
But I doubt they would do that.
Japanese companies usually are not into cheating.
Even if they lose in Exposure and maybe AF, they could still win in Flash, Colour, Texture and Artifacts.
Zoom even at 5x looks better than S10+ according to Recombu site.
Abd better bokeh than pixel 3 according trustedreviews.
If Buks was just mocking people , he would use a funny emoji for the answer.
Maybe their unit already has newer firmware , the one coming this week to public.
Who knows?

People begged sony for loop without bezels but Sammy made it |

Each Xperia usually has own codename. Low ends dont seem to have.
1 is Kumano, the 10+ is Mermaid and 10 is Kirin
If the 5G is Horus, so it has to be another device and not just 1 with 5G modem. Right?

Yeah, actually it's weird how the note line got squareish in each updated model. Now it's just a Sony. Well, judging by these renders it could have been a great looking phone instead of ambient flow. Poor Sony, they keep losing their design to other manufacturers. I wish they'd do a new Arc before someone gets the idea.
@Hawk, there can't be a 1 5G, it's too late for that imo. If there will be a 5G device this year it'll probably be another model. |

Someone said here while ago that Arc design is even worse to fit internals than Ambient Flow.
I remember that devices like C and L are bit arc.
Center is thinner than the rest.
If they had all those designs since they were making z line.
Why not use it?
10 could have been xa2. |

How can arc could be worse?
Xz2 had 5mm difference between the thinnest and the thickest parts. Arc has only 1.3mm. With a subtle curve like that even if the entire curve is empty the design wouldn't have been that thick. (add 1.3 to XZP for example)
And it's not just the arc.
Gradients (Huawei, Samsung)
Mirror finish (pretty much every glass backed Chinese phone)
Frosted finish (see OnePlus and OPPO, Pixel)
Steel frame (z3+ z5p had it now iphone has it)
Etc
Now loop surface
It's not like 2011. Might be hard to do but it's the premium market. You have to work for it.

But if they make a new Arc with today's components of course they will use more space compared to years ago.
Camera would end up in the middle again. You cant place it in the curves portion. |

Why should it need more space? Everything is getting smaller. Xperia V had its camera on top. Multiple cams would be a challenge but that's not my problem. Create a smoothly zooming lens like point and shoots I don't care.
I get sad seeing loop on Samsung. And it does look classy and futuristic. More than those curved cornered generic shits. They should build upon their own legacy. Aside from purple and length X1 is pretty generic. |

The Asus flip camera got 98 for selfie, that's a rear high quality camera used for selfie and it got a score only 1 ahead of the S10 actual selfie camera. Surely the Asus would get over 100? The rear camera has to get 98 because it's the same camera.
S10+ has a photo score of 117... Sony's new post processing algorithm which it does in raw before converting to jpeg might get it 119 points in photo. The only place in photos sony is lacking with xperia 1 is dynamic range or HDR...
Asus is a different story. It's post processing is just not as good as other flagships and I doubt it can get a score of 119 even in photos as it doesn't have OIS or a telephoto lens. It got only 1 point extra in selfie because it couldn't get better score in still photography as it's exposure is very low in low light compared with S10+. DXO also didn't factor in the wide angle camera for selfies which should have increased the score even further. Asus video in 4k @60 fps with EIS is the best I have seen. Sony on the other hand doesn't have 60fps in 4k and neither that good Stabilization.

RAW Noise Reduction is an awesome addiction, it might make the phone get 119 for the photo score. But after that, you mentioned "the only place where the phone lacks is dynamic range" could make the point reduced by 15 because it is more crucial than noise reduction. Let alone doing great in zoom and bokeh, they can't even get the dynamic range right. Don't expect that high of a score, especially when you know DxOMark won't give a high score to a company that doesn't pay them. It is an irrelevant site now, at least to me.

Gsmarena comparison pics are up. Low light details look good but this time good light is kinda bad. There's an overall softness. Could be the big aperture. Raw nr doesn't look like it has a significant effect. Also there's some oversharpening going on. |

Comparing to the S10 and P30 Pro, the 1 actually shows more fine detail than the others in good light.
Look at the money, or the donkey badge on the right for example. You can see texture that the others have smooshed away with noise reduction. Yes, the 1 images are noiser, but also defintely have finer detail.
The low light is significantly better, but it also looks pretty much identical to the Good Light photo which might be a mix up.

If you check all phones from gsma photo tool.
None can beat XZ2.
Battery endurance was 79.
Same value of 10+.

Actually good light is worse than low light. So much noise. It's weird.
There's this blurriness and halos around writings. The money's not as sharp. Look at right next to letter N of the TEN, lines are smudged. Take a look at the iso chart, the blur is obvious.
The lens of 1 seems better at edges and corners than S10, xs max, pixel.
The shadows look jagged on X1, I think because of the sharpening.
Low light is pretty good.
Might be a mix up or they haven't uploaded the good light one yet maybe.
