I do appreciate those who feed hints and disagree with "useless" part.
But just as we are free to feed any info here (because this is rumor forum), we are also free to ask for more info or confirmation.

Nobody asked anyone to join here or give info.. All of us here are Xperia fans and want the brand to go ahead.. We all are sony lovers and want information about the company.. There is nothing to be rude about..

The imx600 used by Huawei has about 40mm2.
Imx379 and imx400 have about 28mm2.
Without the bayer filter the monochrome can crab as much light as 3 rgb sensor. So we can consider that imx379 like a 84mm2 rgb sensor when UHS kicks in. In the end the motion eye dual would be like a 112mm2 rgb sensor.
Even if p20 pro or mate 20 pro can push iso12800 too for video, the footage is no near that clear compared to xz2p.
The evaluation of Dxo shows that mate 20 pro lost score of noise and I think texture too compared to p20 pro.
All this time phone got updated few times. On the day it was announced it would score lower probably.
Even photos taken at iso51200 if downscaled to lower resolutiom (like 5MP) can be saved by edition.
Most of phones are already useless before they reach 3200.
They need to find a way to overcome the limitations of current aube: no HDR photo/video, no macro, no 4K.
Samsung is going 1/2.55" again. They haven't said if s10 will have new isocell/exmor or same used by s9.
I doubt Sony will sell stacked sensor to anyone. Not even 7r3 has one.
Person who uploaded info of 666 on wiki also wrote 21:9, DRAM and April/2019.
Looks very suspicious to me ...
Who else takes 2 months after the event to start sales beside Sony ?
No other exmor for mobile has stronger specs, no way they would hand over to another company.
I can't explain my happiness when I found it on wiki .... 😻😻😻

Mugen as in Mugen Honda? I'm a big Gran Turismo fan, had all of them and currently have only one game on my PS4 - GT Sport.
We need to ease up on the dream camera specs. The XZ2 Premium had a great camera but needed the extra space to stop overheating so realistically, you would need a similar thickness right? If the dimensions are correct then you would assume the sensor with the RAM is new with better heat control and I have no idea what multiple sensors will do so perhaps some practical considerations will help us to crack these codes with realistic assumptions. I know nothing about cameras in general, I just know that Sony made huge progress from the days where the camera would shut down from overheating so I think they would rather go fat than . Something that would be great would be a low light sensor for the super slow motion. If anyone has the XZ2 Premium, did the low light sensor help at all or was it not used for video?

What? Monochrome? I don't know. Aube as we know it, needs it. But of course other things can be done.
Like it's already aligning photos, it surely can align a sequence of frames from a single sensor. It might even be able to stabilize like ois. That way they can use longer exposure and more frames for hdr. Possibilities are endless.
@badassmam, from Roland's tweets someone said Xa series weren't released in Japan. Technically l3 is entry level. If they are bringing Xa just now I don't think l3 will be there. But that's pure speculation. It was also said that the Compact was Japan only. So maybe the 3rd one is that not l3? |

The thickness in xz2 premium was largely down to the curved back which made the efficient accomodation of components difficult
I dont think sony will have difficulties with a flat backed phone |

the monochromatic sensor is able to capture many more details than an rgb sensor can do. In the camera interface you can choose whether to use it or not. Both for photos and for videos. The difference is remarkable. The "aube" chip is used to merge the two images of the two sensors into a single image. ofc i have the xz2p) |

Well, it looks bigger than xz3 to me.
Unless that one is the Ultra or Plus.
I think it is the first time Xa series is tipped to be sold in Japan.
Probably this move is to steal clients from Sharp midranges.
Mate Lite is becoming more popular every year.
Correction: Imx412 not imx379 inside xz2p, my mistake...
All the ToF I could find so far were 640x480 resolution, also monochrome.

At this point the hardware is the least, the processing is the one that needs improvement.
It does not matter if the XZ2 Premium produced photos with less noise, people want more Dynamic Range and until they solve it, people will not change their perception. |
