Problem: XTNDConnect problems (bluetooth connection problems) with winXP and Bluetooth.

If you are having problems installing and sync'ing T68i with Outlook, read this...

I always keep my pc up to date with the newest updates, and now I just installed Win XP SP1 with updates. Then the problems arrived...

I also downloaded the newest bluetooth software for my billionton bluetooth adapter v1.3.2.7(http://www.billionton.com.tw/extra/download.htm).

First, the package R4Apackage4.exe would not install properly. Answer: Uninstall Q238310 hotfix from microsoft. Then install the package again (and restart).

Then enable a bluetooth com port in the bluetooth settings on your pc. Then open control panel and open "phone monitor options", and go to Com-ports. Then click "enable" on the com port that is used by the Bluetooth software to connect to Applications (Bluetooth software -> Advanced Config -> Client Applications).

Now it should work...

I spent over 4 ours trying to work out this problem, so I thought I would share the solution.,..

Well this work around at least let me get R4APackage2 installed without the IKernel.exe crash at the end ... but I still can't connect with Phone Settings or PBTM to the phone.

My setup is T68i connecting over Bluetooth to a DLink DBT-120 USB adaptor (uses Widcomm BT stack) to a WinXPPro PC. I can manually create a BT serial port to the T68, say COM4, so I enable that port in Phone Monitor. Now when I start one of the apps up it searches for the phone, and the black Phone Monitor icon appear in the task bar and the Bluetooth serial port is connected and disconnected several times, then the app come back saying it can't find the phone. Reserving the port didn't seem to make any different either.

What gives?

Have you reserved the com port under "Local Services" or "Client Applications" ?

Com4 is default for "Local Services", but you have to set up the comport for "Client Applications" for it to connect! (and make sure it same comport is enabled under "Phone Monitor Options" in control panel.)

Com3 is my default for Client apps...

I am wondering if you have figured your problem out. I have a DBT120 and the first day my outlook synch and the sony image editor worked great. Then I did a windows update, I think that's what set it off, and shortly after nothing worked. I can still send images using the normal drag to inbox thing but I can't use anything ericsson. I really want to synch calendars and possibly do all the cool control your pc stuff.

I have already posted a solution here... and you don't even need the SE XTNDConnect solution.
