Looks like a hefty, ugly, "me too" designed beast.

Fingerprint reader on the back.
going 2yrs into the past on power button design and placement.
same HUGE forehead and chin bezels.
- personally I think this is the very FIRST time I'm complaining about bezel size EVER ... but this even looks worse than an iPhone 6/6S/7/8 Forehead/Chin Bezel! That's horribly bad!!

Whomever is in charge at Sony leading design or approving smartphone design needs a knock upside the head, 1 time ... SMACK!

I agree with you. These phones are wide enough to have the side mounted fingerprint scanner which is by far the most comfortable place to have it so why they have put it on the back is ridiculous unless its to cut costs. The flagships cannot go this way though. I can accept the forehead and chin because the side bezels are gone plus they have got a stacked spec sheet for a mid ranger. The overall design bugs me, its too similar to the last model so it feels like they knocked up the idea in a couple of days. I loved how the old Sony Ericsson phones could have similar specs but the designs were totally different. I typing this on my Zenbook 3 which itself has these small design features like the gold bezel edge and gold lettering on the keyboard but the end product is amazing in the blue colour so I miss these design features, the orange Walkman accents and things like that make a big difference.

Admittedly "Me too design" but these couple devices are ODM contract phones, isn't it?

Finally their old (small) battery stockpile has out of stock and it improve big time.

Hopefully with Snapdragon, Sony will make follow-up update more easily than previous generation too.

Q. Does this or the xz2 have 'dual apps' built in?
Just realised I used two phones previously now only going to use one phone

I bought the xa2 ultra should arrive within two weeks.
In addition if the xz2 premium has a great back and front camera/s and battery life on par with xz2 I'll sell the xa2ultra
And get the xz2 premium.

When it arrives I'll give a review of the xa2 ultra aswell *thumbs up*

Edit:
In addition I got the 4gb ram/64gb internal memory from Hong Kong (I'm is Australia, Melbourne)
I realised Americans get the 4gb/32gb int memory.
