After watching photos and video at this site:
http://mobiledreams.free.fr/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=55

I am very disappointed......
The user interface is too ugly, which wastes the high resolution and true colour screen.
The font design is really bad, and the whole user interface has a poor graphic design.
Comparing with Sony Ericsson's Japanese phones and T68i,
the graphic design of Z1010 is some what..........@)(*$@$&(

The response of key press seems very slow (as seen in the video).

No "active filp"??? The guy closed and opened the "filp" (or "folder"?),
the light will not trun on or off at once......
He needs to press a button to make the phone wakes up......

I really hope will improve these problems before the phone is commercially launched.
However, I really afraid that other new GSM phones that will launch soon will have the same poor user interface graphic design as this one........... For example the T610... As T610 seems will launch soon so there will not be much chance for them to modifty the user interface...

This is a prototype phone. probably the software is not finshed. The sw in the T610 is verry fast and responsiv actually and the menus is verry cool I think, like verry high res T68 with ai bit of 3d everyware.
And about the actice flipp, this is probably a setting.

Hi Borat,

it's good then......
how about if compare t610's user interface with z1010 prototype?

actually i think the t610 u tested is also just a prototype but why there is so difference with z1010's prototype...

by the way, how's the connector of t610?
does it has built-in spearkerphone?
and is the quality of the built-in camera bad?

thanks

What's wrong with the interface graphics. I think it looks nice. Like T68 but with better looking icons. Nothing wrong with that.

For keypress delay, it is not that easy to see on that small videoclip. And as it is a prototype much can happen before it is realeased. The "active flip" might be a setting who will know until it is released.

I havn't seen the submenus of the Z1010 but the main menu looks about the same. The connenctor of the T610 is the same ericsson platform connector wich the T68 has. It dose not have speaker-phone as I can remember but that was something I didn't look after so much becouse the time was verry short so I'm not 100% sure. Aout the camera, I think the photos looked verry nice on the screen but I never saw the on a coputer screen so I can't tell how the actuall cuallaty is.
I think the 65k screen in the T610 was great, I'm not sure if it was cstn type or TFT but it looked even better than the P800 screen.
One more cool thinh was that I found the T610 verry cosumizible, you can edit your themes directly in the phone!

Hi ppcrockar,

i think it still has a lot of areas that can be improved to enhance the user experience. For example, the font, the background design, the size and design of icon, battery status bar, design of softkey bar, etc.
now it just give me an old-fashioned feeling.....

Just one comment on that
I'm sure you can change the bakground like on the T68.
And btw, The software maby is finished and free from buggs but the design of the software is maby not.

Well, I can't see any fault with the Icons, I think they look really good... The background can probably be edited just like on the T68i. Just remember how boring the white background was on the T68m. And if the interface looks like it does at the first picture on that page I've no complaints at all.

Let's hope for a choice of fonts. With phones with more CPU-power, better screens, more memory we could maybe in the not to distant future choose are own fonts

Borat,
then how about the outlook?
is it cool in your opinion?
can users change the cover and does it has other colours except black+sliver?
also, has the phonebook improved? many users want to add, for example, 2 mobile (or home or other types) numbers into one contact.
it is impossible in t68i, i hope has improved about it...

nokia 7250(i) seems improved a lot,
it has 4mb dynamic memory, photo phonebook, voice recorder, voice command,etc...so i afraid t610 has not enough power to kill the 7250(i)

I don't know what to say... in some aspects it doesn't look to bad, but on closer inspection it isn't that appealing. I think it looks cool when its closed, when its open its nothing flash.

I think those slow menus will be fixked, and if they don't fix that flip feature then there could be trouble. The whole idea of the flip is for ease of answering I though.... :S

I will say this, the price that 3G in Australia is going to be charging... I will be waiting for a very long time before I get one... If I get one, even if I can afford it, I don't think I would be choosing the SE Z1010 with the current info that is available.

So this phone can't work in 900/1800/1900 networks??? If we have a 3g network here in my country, this would be after 3-4 years at least.
