This fiscal year ...
The problem is the fact XZ2P is the main device.
I doubt they would give to H84 hardware that XZ2P does not have.

Qualcomm presents new 8xx usually late November.
But chips started to be produced in January.

SDM855 now being made at low-rate production for testing and fine-tuning. And the next one is SDM1000 being under development....No SDM900 (that reserved for mid-range, like 700 series)

Not related to Sony or Xperia but I watched some news about those "rumored" SDM chips and Im like laughing....I spoke too soon about things...Am I an time traveller???

Anyway, the next thing, maybe next year, "AI", your Xperia will have the same brain as your aibo

My Xperia will be able to chase a ball and will either grow more or less affectionate depending on how much time I spend with it and how I treat it? Damn!

Xperia XZ4 will grow legs, can be petted, can play fetch, and could be charged in 3 hours for 2 hours usage?

I'll pass on xz2p if its successor is able to do my laundry, cook, cut my nails, trim my beard and read me all gossips on esato..

Spoke to my friend at Vodafone Australia last night, went out for dinner and randomly mentions they're waiting for an Xperia tablet which they'll get hopefully
So we'll wait and see if it does appear or not now.

Great news. Did he mention anything about an Ultra variant of a flagship? Just asking for a friend .

I'm not sure this part "they're waiting for an Xperia tablet which they'll get hopefully"

Does this mean they know the tablet is coming but not sure if they will carry it OR they are not sure the tablet itself is coming

We have a celebrity amongst us:

https://sumahoinfo.com/next-y[....]-xz4-will-have-ai-same-as-aibo

Everyone is using some sort of AI these days so I guess Sony is a little behind in that respect, lets see where that goes and how useful it actually is. Some people don't want that stuff, for AI to be useful it has to monitor and learn everything. Its bad enough when I'm buying a gift for the Mrs and you get swamped by adverts from the website.

I'm getting vibes of a high end device that is not the XZ2s/XZ3 from a few places. If it doesn't show up early, I think it will just become part of the MWC Xperia range but I gather that if it were to come at IFA, it would be a step up from the XZ2P. It has a different design to the XZ2 while the XZ2s/XZ3 will probably be similar to the current range. By different design I hope the FPS has moved, maybe to the front.

There is talk/news going around that with TSMC now on 7nm, and samsung not starting full 7nm this year at all (full scale next year) that Qualcomm will instead shift it's snapdragon 855 to TSMC. Announcement of the 855 should happen at the end of the year as with the 845 but how end of the year is a mystery, could be early as November to late December. Production of the 855 is supposed to start in late 2018, early 2019, so devices should show up at MWC 2019 but that doesn't mean there won't be announcements at CES 2019. With Sony rumoured to be working with Qualcomm on 5G closely, perhaps a teaser of a new device at CES could happen, but no rumours to back that up.

While this year in aug/sept, does mark the 10 years of xperia, X1 at IFA, granted that was not an android device but winmobile, same for X2. The first sony android was the X10 and that came out in 2010, so we still have 2 more years till a "true" android 10 year flagship.

On another note, the first sony tablet was first announced 7 years ago around IFA 2011, so while I am not holding my breath for a Sony tablet on android, a Sony tablet running windows on arm would be an interesting idea. SD845 would be great but the new announced SD850 would be better but that is slated for holiday season 2018. Perhaps Sony would announce a windows arm tablet at IFA but sales would start closer to the holiday season.

Well I'm not surprised but I am sad. Now I have to export any Xperia I need. Anyways if Sony won't introduce any Ultra flagship variant I'll continue with Xiaomi or Huawei.

Still, sad news.
