Yeah, Pixel Peepers does seem to have a bias towards Sony. It makes me question the authenticity of their comparisons. |

I know, and I've watched them all. But you can tell from the language they use when talking about Sony that they heavily favor it.
When making comparisons like this it's important to have as little bias as possible. They show a bit of bias towards Sony, so it does introduce a bit of doubt when trying to trust their comparisons. I obviously can't prove that they're doing anything wrong, I'm just stating that's how some could view their videos. |

He's not biased, he's as honest as a reviewer can be. It just pisses me off that adida (the true troll, liar, and troublemaker in rumours world) said that those are fake reviews. His XZ2 behaves the same as my XZ2 (great details and sharpness with natural colours, but sometimes has bad dynamic range and plenty of noise).

Looks honest to me.
Some shots of XZ2 are better, other are not.
Also an easy explanation.
Now someone asked him to inform ISO and SS.
GSMArena did XZ2 x S9. In many situations XZ2 was better, other S9 was better.
Another youtube channel I liked is two germans guys someone left link while ago.
I forgot the name of channel, I dont use YT logged in.

Ok, let me rephrase what I mean. Watching his Sony vs. other camera videos, there are several instances where when the the Sony has the better photo he'll state that the Sony phone "destroys the competition" or the other phones "crumbles into dust". But he doesn't use that sort of phrasing when it's another phone against another phone, or when the Sony phones are performing poorly in the comparison.
Just something like that struck me as being a bit off. Like I said, I'm not calling pixel peepers biased, but just the impression of being biased can be off-putting. I mean, stating that one picture is superior to the other and explaining why is perfect, that's exactly what needs to happen. Tossing in what might be considered "fanboyish" phrases like that just make me pause for a moment. I suppose some might say it's a fine line between trying to emphasize the difference and outright fawning over their preferred device.
For now, I still watch and enjoy pixel peepers videos, but I do it in the same way I enjoy Phone Battles videos. I never forget that Phone Battles used to be Xperia Fan, which just for that reason is enough to cause me to keep an eye out for any bias. I'll still watch and enjoy the content, but I'll try to make up my own mind based on the supplied evidence moreso than trust their analysis. I can only hope that they're being truthful in the evidence they're supplying. |

I think Pixel Peepers It's honest, most of the time at least.
But this review is the most honest and made by someone who knows photography and video.

I like the guys from TOPES DE GAMA, both used to work for site Andro4all.
This 2018 Sony is being very kind to my country. I am very surprised.
Reasons why...
1) Compact is available again. Z3c was only one. Price is equivalent to $ 954. Just 10% over Z3+ in our money.
2) XZ2 is cheaper than Z5, Z5P, XZ, XZP and XZ1. XZ was the 32GB only.
3) XA2 Ultra is same price of XA1 Ultra.
4) XA2 is same price of XA1, pre sale has gifts... A 32GB micro sd + headphones.
No sign of L2 yet.

So I've been testing the S9, S9+, XZ2 and had the XZ2 Compact for a short while over the weekend.
Camera on XZ2 was better in daylight than both S9 and S9+ in the majority of situations. I liked having HDR off because you get a much more natural look and less loss of detail. Galaxy S9+ gives less detail in all shots but the processing makes the images look more appealing so Instagram people would like this. Sony is more detailed and natural. Sometimes if it's too sunny it's better to adjust your position and angles rather than mess about with HDR, I didn't like what it did to the image.
Night shots where you have street lighting and shop lights look good on XZ2, you get much more detail. Galaxies look nice with vibrant glowing colours but it was not true to the scene. Ultra dim is good that you pick lots more up but it's very messy while Galaxy picks less up but its much nicer as a picture. XZ2 almost looks like grainy police CCTV images you see on the news. I fully expect XZ2 to get over 100 in DXO apart from the dual camera special tests. Very impressed, it definitely sits in the S9+ bracket and no reviewer can deny that.
Other things that struck me with the four phones is that the XZ2 is similar in size to the S9+ and the Compact closer to the S9. You notice this when the devices are together. I do not understand how Samsung cram so much into such a sleek body, the XZ2 Compact for one should definitely smaller than what it is. A S9 Compact with 5 inch screen would probably be the size of iPhone 5SE, Sony should aim to be smaller and thinner than the iPhone 8. |
