I DM-ed the official Sony Mobile facebook page about XZ2 Premium being able to record 4K @ 60 fps video with HDR. Their response was that this information is not currently available and will be revealed at the time of product's launch.
@spektykles, thanks for addressing our questions.

Too early for a IFA phone.
I dont think a XA2+ would be good idea. If they have plans to make it.
Because 5.5" is just a bit bigger than 5.2.
5.7 is very close to 6.
Can u send the FCC ID here? There are a lot of them and very easy to get confused... |

Can someone tell me the reason for the latest xperia phones being too heavy and thick..
It's because of the size of AUBE ISP the chip is very large, in fact in the MWC they mentioned that the only problem they had was that the size.
Larger processors produce more heat, I guess the graphite layer is now thicker and heavier

I remember that Sony's booth at Barcelona had a XZ2 completely opened.
So ppl could see all the pieces.
XZ2 does not seem to have graphite layer.
Maybe it is just for premium because 4K requires more power from gpu/cpu.
I dont like design, but the specs are pretty tempting.
4K 16:9, decent front cam and ME dual. 64 GB is way more than I use.
But the rumors of a stronger phone for IFA makes this harder to choose.
Flap of sim card on my phone needs to be replaced, frame is ugly, glass scratched.
I works pretty well, but I want a new one, so mine can be back up.
Question: the rumor of " ultra " slow-mo would be just for next flagship or XZ2P too? I believe AUBE must be strong enough to deal with a giant amount of data.
Androidpit did their battery test with XZ2. They say it can easily reach 7h SoT. Real performance is way better than theory.

The first part is actually not true, size of the chip does not relate to heat output.
We don't actually know why Sony designed the phone to this thick, we might have to wait for first teardown to see what's inside, how big the AUBE is.

Iphones and some galaxy s9 series that has their own ISOCELL camera, they have their own custom ISP (at least, that's what they told the public, especially apple)

Pixel 2 uses Pixel Visual Core, but it could be different from AUBE as it's supposed to supplement Qualcomm's built-in ISP and DSP |

Older versions of snapdragon 8xx were bigger.
And litograohy of 24, 20 nm ..
Newer cpu are smaller, 10 or 12nm. Less heat is generated because power loss is reduced. |

So was the XZ2 Premium supposed to have the new and slimmer body with close to 80% screen to body ratio?

I was talking about isp not camera sensors bro....
So sony is the first one i see with a dedicated isp of it's own.
I hope it will be a game changer
Any chance to see some samples? |
