if we count xz2's camera performances against other flagships and this new setup probably crash the competition.
monochrome 1.55 um pixel sensor with f1.6 probably catches 2x more(maybe even more) light then current f2.0 imx400
and even it has f1.8 lens now, i really wonder how close we are to rx100 level iso performance...

I cut out the Dimensions on a cardboard. too chunky for me. sadly won't be able to get my hands on that camera goodness.guess I'll be waiting for IFA flagship. |

Why is sony the only manufacturer releasing heavy and thick phones.
The specs are good but the dimensions are a big let down.
If u want to see less bezels and a decent selfie snapper go check samsung lg and huwaei flagships |

Looks dated, bazels are pretty big, it's heavy and thick... Pretty bad, they made it to look even worse then XZ2 lol...
Let's see the camera, it has to be something really unseen so far to justify this phone... And I bet they will not start selling it before July.

^ It is even worse then XZ2 because of that 16:9 display, it is too wide to hold. And bazels are bigger. It is degradated version of XZ2 (how was that even possible to achieve? ).

I like :
- 16:9 screen.
- LCD screen
- Main camera is still hi res
- Flagship front camera
I dont like :
- Design of XZ2
- Sensors are 1/2.3" , I was expecting 1/2"
How about stuff we were talking past few days?
Like upgraded Super SM, few design changes, 128GB storage

I really don't know. Best case scenario we will have 18:9 Pro model in IFA with those but I'm just guessing. |

wow...
this is a very interesting announcement.
literally just a model that adds 4K display and upgraded cameras. yes the memory and battery get a boost too, but eh so what.
dimensions are gonna be the biggest problem for most people, I think. It is chunky for sure.
in my opinion, this does not seem like a proper upgrade to the XZ Premium. at the very least, it's not enough to make me want to spend $900 to upgrade from my XZP.
I'm very curious what they will announce at IFA, if they are choosing to announce the XZ2 Premium now all of a sudden. If they do come out with a so called "Pro" model at IFA, they really need to start making up their minds with the naming cause it's getting extra confusing if "premium" isn't the top flag ship anymore. Oh Sony.. how i love you.. but you make some really silly decisions.
I am looking forward to seeing what the new dual camera and fusion processor can do though. Something to look forward to for the future. No doubt low light performance will be better with the lower aperture and dual setup. The real test is how well the fusion processor really performs and what sony believes is "usable" at ultra high ISO. Shame there weren't sample photos on the product page.
