EIS is better for videos.
That is hugely debatable. You lose a considerable amount of FoV with EIS. Sony's particular implementation is no doubt the single best EIS implementation, but OIS - if done properly - will ultimately be better imo. |

spektykles,
Obviously your info is more credible, so I believe you.
About next premium Xperia, name is "Xperia XZ2 Premium" for sure?
If so, what happens to Xperia "Pro" which has been mentioned here long time ago? |

No info regarding any Xperia right now. Wait till July and everything will be clear....
Sony now handed down very tight antileak policy....

spektykles,
thanks. So I take your words as "next xperia to be announced/released in July"
>Sony now handed down very tight antileak policy....
This is what I don't understand about sony.
Leak is the best free marketing tool they should utilize but they just don't realize it.
Don't mean to bring up race but it's very Japanese.

Not in that context, the July thingy...
And sometimes leak was a bad thing, like in the case of XZ2c. Ugly leaks, made a lot of ppl think whole XZ2 as ugly POS with plastic back and ungodly hump, and thats right before official introduction. Talk about bad reputation when u havent born yet....

My theory:
The reason why Sony would include OIS is the dual camera, it's the biggest change so far.
It will be something more similar to the Huawei way, both cameras need to be stable to achieve better results.
The information taken from the application mentions that if we get too close to the object, it could harm the quality of the image.
This means that disparate conditions between the two cameras should be avoided.
Now that I think about it the secondary camera might not include autofocus (but this one is a vague thought and we need more information) |

So it seems that Samsung will or could be manufacturing the SD855 after all. |

High ISO is used to keep faster shutter and avoid shaking.
But we know phones cant shoot nice pics if ISO goes high.
400 is already enough to damage your photo.
But 400 is a low value for cameras, sometimes they use this value for daylight pics.
My guess is Sony Mobile has found a way to improve quality even if ISO goes 400, 800, 1200 or more.
All this without a huge sensor like P20p.
See the shoots of P20p, photos are clean even with ISO above 1000.
It means the shots can still be great without the slow shutter.
No slow shutter, no OIS is needed.
@spek why is the 120Hz mode come locked by Sony? I read about this last year, that all X flagships have 120Hz screen. Now article on PA says even XA2 has it.

I'm guessing because the screens Sony sourced happen to be 120hz compatible but enabling that mode is a massive battery hog so they didn't bother. |

I don't want anything else but for sony to give all in.. I mean I want the next phone to be what I expected XZ2 to be... With the rumors of exciting lg g7, flagship killer 1+ 6 and now htc u12+, who are all rumored to have triple digit dxomark scores.. So fingers crossed for the next Sony flagship
