Considering the fact that all Premium phones to date have a 4K screen I would imagine they would continue that trend. The only question would be whether it's still using LCD or if they've managed to secure an OLED display.
Personally, I always felt that the Premium phones should encompass all of the best features of all the phones that year. For example, the XA2 Ultra has a great front facing camera setup with OIS and front facing flash, that should be in the Premium. Any feature that's the best in class on any Sony phone that year should find its way to the Premium. I can't really understand why they would't do that. Some of the previous XA Ultra phones have loudspeakers that get far louder than the XZ2, even with a single speaker. Why not figure out a way to use 2 of those in a Premium model?
I'm fine with Sony having a flagship to compete with the others, but the Premium should dial everything up to 11 and then some. I love my XZ Premium, but I'm still baffled when I see that Sony has some better features that they'll put on the mid rangers that don't make their way to the ultra high end flagship. |

I believe that happens only to xz2 because of glass.
My dad has moto g2, curved back and it did the test.
Plastic has higher grip than glass.
First time mine fell on the floor was due to glass.
It was on the couch, then... 😅

I agree, Premium should have the selfie of Ultra.
Actually the XA1+ was the loudest so far, kinda more than necessary.
But Sony says XZ2 is the loudest ever.
Looks like to be hard to keep great quality if you use too much loudness.
Other phones with bottom speaker are louder, but not that good.
U11 is not stereo, it is a trick only. One example of loud speakers.
EDIT: Android Marvel has an article about the tablets, they believe they are real and run Chrome OS.

technically speaking, The adapter MUST has DAC inside because phone send digital data through USB and convert to analog (sound wave) using DAC then passing it to headphones/headsets.
But if the staff meant that there is no premium grade DAC inside, maybe true. |

Dual cam for both.

6GB of RAM should be perfectly adequate. Sure some other phones might have 8 but that's alright. S845 is expected as there won't be a better option, unless Qualcomm releases a mid-year refresh or something. 80% STB puts it about 4% higher than the XZ2, so that's perfectly fine IMO. Dual camera... there's a lot of hope riding on that camera, so let's see how it performs.
Sad if it's an IFA launch as we'll have to wait so long. Oh well. |

Some companies used the Type-C port to send Analog audio directly, then the USB consortium created a standard for analog audio using Type-C.. that's why some phones with Type-C only support specific Type-C headphones.. noticeably some HTC phones...

Notch was not necessary. They could easily use a top bezel and the other 3 sides edge-to-edge.
Like Sharp Crystal, just upside down.
This cut makes screen more expensive, even more if it is oled.
Iphone X has less STB than other phones without notch.
