A new Xperia, maybe same time as "XZ2 Premium", could be "XA2 Plus". IDK....
H44xx, 18:9, SDM660, based on platform Nile R2...
Codename "SM42"????
Source code of XA2 series mentioned it....

Thanks spektykles,
I trust your info (unlike someone else's)
So so far, this H44XX has SD660, not SD 630 for sure? |

Actually XA2 series using the board designed for SDM660 (630 and 660 SoC can use the same board), and Sony is know for cost-cutting (they traditionally recycle parts of HW and SW, like XPerf and XZ share a lot of parts and SW too)...
And sometimes Sony devs are forgetting to scrub off some info about new devices on their source codes.... |

XA1 and XA1+ are different... 5" and 5.5".
Now XA2 has 5.2".
I dont think a XA2+ is necessary.
Not much difference between 5.2" 16:9 and 5.7" 18:9, if this device has size of XZ2.
The phone that certification was cancelled then certified again is flagship.
There were two phones with sim.tray at the top. |

Again, PY7-21831A and PY7-00718V are the same device.
Nothing new. Some stupid sites with no knowledge/tracking of FCC saying it's XZ2 Pro/Premium |

Now it makes sense. I've been wondering why Geekbench shows XA2/XA2 Ultra's CPU as SDM660 instead of SDM630, but this explains everything. So you are saying this H44XX could be either SDM630 or SDM660? |

Using 660 designed board for 630 is an overkill, unless they could save tons of money for not creating a new one specially for only 630....

Oh, ok, so it is not the reason XA2 shows up with SDM660 on Geekbench.

Battery life of XZ2 Compact is updated on GSMArena.com. It's rated as 19:20h talk, 13:04h web and 10:24h video, with 88h standby. 88h is the same as XZ2. It looks not bad but not as spectacular as XZ1 compact. I guess this is probably the reason why Sony will no more make compact models with the high-end CPU as rumor says. The increased screen resolution does have a big impact on battery.

Camera samples of XZ2c are a bit different from XZ2.
They are brighter , less vibrating colors.
Lower ISO in good lighting ( 40 x 80), same ISO for low light but different white balance.
The impact of 1080p+ on battery was expected.
High end cpu helps due to better litography and built.
It is probably low sales..
No compact had the impact of Z1c and Z3c. Now ppl are looking for big screen to watch more videos.
I read that in one location , I dont remember if it was India or Thailand, the best seller Xperia last year was XA1 Ultra.
