So while not Xperia related it does have implications for next year's devices.

It appears Qualcomm well again go with Samsung to manufacture their 855 doc and not TSMC as I thought in my previous posts. But earlier reports stated Samsung would focus on 8nm this year but I guess with TSMC grabbing all(?) of Apple's A12 production I feel Samsung realized they need to catch up.

Production begins in 2020? Err is that not a bit too late for next year's 855?
Although this article states production start from next year, so no idea what is correct now.

If Qualcomm wants a 7nm sd855 next year I am not sure Samsung can deliver that unless they begin fab later this year or early next, assuming the sd855 will be available for MWC2019 devices. With the A12 on 7nm already later this year, I feel Qualcomm would want to bring the sd855 to market as fast as possible to minimize the lost sales to it's partners.
As for MWC maybe something will leak in Friday or Saturday? |

What about the teaser video when the #Sony MWC comes up? Is that not the phone right there? |

WRGB is what LG uses on oled TVs.
But it can be used for LCD too.
Mate 10 has RGB-WRGB.
Way before last IFA the gossip of WRGB for next Premium has been around.

Qualcomm's deal isn't big as it look, according to DEC 2017 Trendforce's research
Samsung ranked only 4th in foundry marketshare which is below Global Foundry (AMD's major client) and UMC.
But they scored hefty profit in memory business, we shall see if they ready to burn more money with 7nanometer production line.

That looks like a side profile to me, now do you think the back is curved or the screen? If the screen is curved then what about the speakers? If the back is curved then what about the FPS? Lots to think about. How would the Arc look with minimal bezel? |

If u r simply waiting for the ripples to be removed then there comes a time when it's all flat.. That could be the phone too.. And as per the pic, the design is going to be hideous.. If the screens curved then back is flat, like what? And I hate the arched back.. Looks like a pregnant belly, not that pregnant belly is bad.. But for phones? No thank you.. |

Back has been curved in the past... So is it the screen this time? |

Just unpacked my old arc, still charges and works like a charm... Android version a little old 4.04, haha. Still one of my all time favorite SE phones, think the design is awesome (granted the top bezel is a little large...)
If they actually refreshed that design I would be over the moon, something different than all the slabs out there... Hope bend goes inward like arc and is not on screen, but will keep mind open for anything different |
