Sony's insider: No OLED Flagship phone MWC 2018, No LG OLED, Next Time Flagship Phone With OLED
post: In the recruitment requirements, it explicitly requires candidates must have experience in the development of OLED screens, including the succession of mobile phone display components, design, production, testing and quality control. Obviously this means that the OLED screen appears on the Sony Xperia is not far away.

I seem to remember Sony execs having a secret device last MWC, which they only showed to a few people. Was that right?

Are h81xx, h82xx and h83xx going to look all different from each other or just the main phone? |

Nice concept.
Except the logo on bottom bezel and different speakers.
One looks like Z3's and second looks Z5's.

Overall this year CES is a success for Sony.
New TV tech, new Aibo, very good XA series phones - most people liked what they saw including me.
Now, for the new flagship I don't want Sony to radically redefine the design.
It's reassuring to hear that the phone will still be recognize as Sony phone.
Sudden departure from current design and introducing a completely new
design will surely upset a lot of sony loyalist for sure. |

I'm sure it will be recognisably Sony but I wouldn't like to see 'more of the same' i.e. Omnibalance. It's a little bit too conservative and understated and Xperia needs to stand out more. IMO.

The notification light on z2 is the best implementation i have seen on a smartphone subtle yet elegant and very functional too. I hope it comes back in the next flagship |

Z2's notification was like Z1's.. in the headset speaker. it's a terrible location imo cause it's difficult to see. especially since after awhile it's inevitable to get dust and crap in that crevice, which makes it even harder to see it. i prefer a notification LED either on the front somewhere near the sensors or maybe even on the side as thin bar that acts as a notification as well as a design element. that'd be cool.
