Just black is just for me.
The camera samples so far promise a lot for the picky users.

Pixel XL 2 is nice but no headphone jack , no memory card at a price higher than Note 8 (which is already very expensive ). I think I will keep my original XL for another year

The is no doubt that this is a fantastic device which pretty much does well in every aspect except that it looks awful, its too expensive for that design.

Misses some essential features and doesn't look great. The S8 does all that and is very affordable now..soon the N8 will follow suit. Again, the G6,V30 & U11 are also pretty solid options over this as long as you arent desperate for a vanilla android.

You guys are forgetting the price point provides you with 2 years youtube red, unlimited photo storage at full quality and 100TB of google drive storage. that alone is worth a lot of money. the vast majority of users use their microSD card to store photos and videos, which can now be stored on google's cloud.

i admit it doesn't look the greatest but it does have front facing stereo speakers and a solid OLED screen and a camera that promises very impressive results. every flagship that has been released is asking for around this price point to start. I think google is pretty much on par. it just depends what you need or want. if i were in the market for something new, i'd get this over the N8 cause it offers more of what i would use vs. the N8.

The Google photos upload is only until 2020 and I am pretty sure (though not 100%) that it is the same for 100 TB

and which also means one will need to stick to the pixel line up for life.

yes there's a time limit, but your photos don't get deleted or anything. you'll just be limited like everyone else after 2020. but that's in 2 years time, so you'll be looking for a new phone most likely anyway.

not sure about the online storage and sorry, it's not 100tb but 1TB haha. 100tb is way excessive. i wasn't thinking.

Other than not having a headphone jack ( which is a deal breaker for many - quite understandable) I don't see any major flaw.

Camera will $hit on every other thing in the market. High quality storage for photos and videos for 3 years is absolutely awesome. Don't have to worry about fulling the 64GB storage.
Design looks very good and pragmatic. Not having that stupid Bixby button alone is a win for pixel. Google really put good use of the squeeze feature - to open the Best smart assistant.
Battery life will be much better than other flagship android phones.
Front facing Stereo speaker is just awesome. Love the FFSS when I watch youtube video.
It doesn't look like tree like note 8
    https://www.phonearena.com/ph[....]ote-8/phones/10568,10312,10478
It'll remain the fastest and smoothest phone until pixel 3 launch.
    No bullshit bloatware.
It has oled tech that will prevent it from getting burn in on screen unlike other oled panel.

Overall the best android phone release this year, IMO.

Oh, I forgot to mention one important thing - It'll hold it's value much better than other android flagship phones. Even samsung failed to hold their initial price for too long. It's not even a month but note 8 is already almost 100 dollar cheaper than the original price. That is just sad for the most "Premium" android phone maker. I'm not going to mention Sony here because we all know how fast their price drop.

Agree 100%

Google is not a company that will make some phones here and there anymore.
Google is a full player now and probably the one who will always fight Iphones to the Edge. With their $ on R&D I might say it will pass all other major player like Samsung, Lg etc.

I agree that 3 years is still a very good offer for Google photos . I also agree that this is going to be a v fast phone (my Pixel XL feels as fast as the s8 plus and Note . But I also think that it is an expensive phone and the fact that it holds its value is not necessarily a good thing - unlike the iPhone it doesn't sell as well so resell value won't be great .

Oh and by the way Bixby button can now be deactivated 😉
