Samsung Galaxy S8 Announced |

Samsung could release it sooner because they're partnering Qualcomm, they also have their own screens and most probably everything else apart from the camera. That's a massive advantage they have over everyone. Sony should've delayed giving them the camera sensors but they themselves probably make a ton of cash from selling their sensors to Samsung who are obviously their biggest customer considering the number of units they sell. |

Yes, S8 look classy and will sell like hot cake.
But for me personally, as a S7 user, I don't think i will switch to it. I will look at the competition.
- no improvements in camera department
- no improvements in battery performance
- slight improvements in SoC performance (& maybe efficiency).. but no near the last year apple a10.
- edge screen: I am not a fan of the edgy screen, mostly due ergonomics and extra glare. I had enough with the s6 edge and also didn't like the s7 edge.
- non standard screen resolution
- big phone, why they tend to generally increase the phone with almost every iteration?!
- that stupid awkward fingerprint sensor position
- got tired of glass back phones (and i'm using the wireless charging very very rarely)
- & more

Aussieland,
Indeed, DeX will be a continued work in progress.
Agreed DSF,
The S8 is not enough of an upgrade to the S7 line. The S7 and S7 Edge were an anomaly though they some how got huge batteries and due to the Note 7 Debacle they got Grace UI much earlier than they should have, Samsung also did an incredible job with the S7 cameras as they were pretty much the best Camera phones in 2016 until the Pixel arrived.
Actually looking at both S7 and S7 Edge right now, they compete quite well with even the 2017 Flagships, nothing that has been announced this year is really better than the S7 Line, mostly Side-grades rather than real upgrades.
The S7 benefitted the most from the Note 7 Debacle as even going forward Samsung will have less of a problem supporting the S7 line as they were the only Flagships in 2016.
I thought no those of us on S7 and S7 Edge need to wait for IFA 2017 or otherwise MWC2018 and the Samsung Unpacked event in 2018.

FYI for those interested.. simple drop tests.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE5QVZ63S9M
seems like since the glass is embedded into the frame, without a case to cushion a corner landing, the GG5 may not be able to handle the impact even from hip height and may crack, which will lead to others eventually.
kinda surprised since it survived good bend test.
does not bode well for the XZP with similar materials as far as drop durability is concerned.. hmmmmm

Review on gsmarena is up. I don't see any differences to the S8 plus so I am wondering why they did separate reviews . A way the phones seems really nice

Wait for them to complete the battery test, that is where the difference may come in. I predict the S8 will get around 75-80h Endurance.
Well I'll be damned! I was wrong I fully expected the S8 to get below 80h in the Battery Endurance Test, but it blew past that and got 84h!

And you believe this review from SamsungArena?
Do you know That in practich lower than those cheap battery trick test.
Even my old Xperia Z5 outperform Galaxy S7 edge in battery test with their lie 46 hours life.
You are so such Sammy freak.

Lol, let's see some screenshots of the battery life you are getting in your Z5, and there must not be any power saving enabled.
I want see at least 6hours Screen On Time.
Sony's are average at battery life at best, nowhere near what the guys here at Esato claim this the only forum where a select few individuals claim Sony's get good battery life.

As much as I dislike Samsung devices and always buy from Sony, I'm too ashamed to put up a screenshot of my Z5 battery life.
Anyone getting the red tint and how are you fixing it? |

I totally understand I had a colleague with a Z5, she to had horrible battery life.
WRT the tint, I've seen a thread or 2 at XDA, but most in the 1 thread I was browsing most solved it by just adjusting the RGB bars in Colour Balance settings, you can go nuts with Customisation in it, I actually think this whole issue has finally brought to light a setting that most wouldn'thave even known about in their Samsung.

So Mr.Hello simply denies everything without proof? All Samsungs have bad battery life? Wonder how my S7E still have 10% charge left while I go to bed after having 4G enabled for more than half the day,Wifi rest of the day, AOD for the whole day, BT Music streaming for at least 1.5 hrs and then the regular use.
And wasn't GSM Arena supposed to be Apple biased..that changed now?

Bravo, Sammobile. You guys have the balls to admit the problems within S8 series phones. But looks like in the process they hurt braindead sammmy boys feelings.
https://www.sammobile.com/201[....]tical-of-the-galaxy-s8-and-s8/
This is how a fansite should be. Although they apologize for things that displease samsung's braindead fanboys, something they shouldn't have done, I can appreciate their honesty. After xperiablog this site earns my respect.
They admit that the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8, has subpar battery life. Very unlike a dummy here who just posted a screenshot from samsungarena site to prove S8 has better battery life. LMAO.
They also admit the finger print scanner on s8 is at the most awkward position for fingerprint placement something the dummy here refused to admit and adamant to convince people to it's not a problem. LMAO.
Well done Sammobile. You deserve my salute but you shouldn't have apologize to those braindead losers anyway they will praise samsung even if samsung kills their loved one. So keep up your great work, you will get bigger and better audience than those losers. |
