Wow!

Got to love it when they put all that talk to the test. What happened to all that blabbering by Sony Fanboys in this thread and XZP thread about the XZP having the best Camera, seems it's same old Sony, with the same ol' average effort.

This now makes me fully confident that even in real life the XZP will have poorer Battery Life than the Galaxy S8 to.

Once again it's up to Google and OnePlus to provide a true Galaxy S competitor, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is just going to be another "tried but failed" like it's predecessors. The day Samsung can match their Samsung ISOCELL production to Galaxy S and Galaxy Note Demand will be a great one, then all Samsung's can be ISOCELL.

Anyway bring on the OnePlus 5 and Google Pixel 2/Pixel XL 2.

Its actually sad..SONY doesn't seem to be interested in making a top phone..they just want a good phone out there. Battery life is indded weaker than the S8 according to GSM Arena. The 4k HDR videos dont seem to be all that noticeable too

Its still a good phone but not the flagship killer. I hope its priced well enough so that they attract more buyers. The HTC looks great apart from the stupid decision to avoid the audio jack -_-

The Xperia XZ Premium is not even worth talking about anymore, it's still not out and it has already lost in Camera, Display , Battery etc etc etc... to the Galaxy S8, same ol' Sony.

I'm looking forward to Galaxy Note 8, Google Pixel XL 2, OnePlus 5 and LG V30 now.

Samsung and LG have done a great job with the S8 range and LG G6 in H1, it's pretty much a wrap now, companies like Sony have a long way to go to catch up.

Let's hope H2 is exciting.

Come on now, let's not exaggerate. I had the chance to see the XZP and compare it to my wife's S8 display, XZP's is great (those ppi count btw). The battery capacity of the XZP is disappointing and the design of the phone could've been more futuristic but it is what it is. I'm also waiting for the Note 8 and the Pixel 2 and hope that google&htc will introduce somewhat of a bezel less design.

If GSMArena is your Gospel then so be it but others that worship DXO will say that the S8 camera is on par with the Xperia X Performance so whatever makes you happy. DXO is as 'accurate' as GSMArena so there you are.

Peace out.

I saw a Screen Protector that is quite highly recommended. InvisShield Extreme Screen Protector for Samsung S8. It can be found here http://www.sgfreshidea.com/mo[....]creen-protector-singapore.html

There is absolutely no exaggeration here, not when compared to the load of BS I read in some of the Sony threads where ANY tech blog that criticises an Xperia gets labelled biased and where claims that Sony has legendary battery life (when they don't) and the other day someone even claimed the XZP is better than the other Flagships when they have not even used one I mean really, that's on top of it already having lost in Battery Life (key area of any Smartphone), Display and Camera (its main focus ironically) to Google, Samsung, HTC and LG, before it even gets released.......if it ever gets released.

That's not exaggerating, these are actual facts

Anyway, I'm seeing great reviews of Samsung DEX, MrMobile seems to truly grasp the point of it, he has a very nicely balanced review of it:

Tsepz and his "actual facts".. lol..

bias exists when a reviewer criticizes something on a device by one manufacturer but overlooks/rationalizes/or even praises the same exact thing on a device by another manufacturer. It's just how it is. People doing reviews are just that, people. we all have our opinions and while they may TRY to be unbiased, there are times when bias will come through.

also, it's a matter of who you trust. you can shop around for the reviewers who praise the devices that you personally also like, or take them all with a grain of salt and see for yourself with your own eyes. Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not YOU are happy with the phone YOU spend your money on. Doesn't matter what anybody else says.

Case in point on how things change so much based on the reviewer. On one hand you have GSMarena saying there isn't much difference with 4K HDR on the XZP and on the other hand, you have the eprice review below, which shows images of the same content on the XZP vs. Z5P and XZP vs. S8+. You would be crazy to look at the pics vs. the S8+ and say that they are the same or the S8+ is better. But even me, a huge Sony fan, am skeptical that an AMOLED display would look so washed out. I would prefer to see it with my own eyes if possible. But I don't know anybody jumping on the S8 bandwagon.. so I can't just yet.

Cheers

I compared the two at the weekend over in Westfield and from everything I could see, the XZ Premium was better. It is faster despite benchmark scores so I don't care what test numbers are coming out. Anyone who has working eyes will say that the Sony screen in the best, it is so sharp and vibrant so I urge people to take a look for themselves. Even the iPhone lost the speed battle to the XZ Premium so I'm just going to drop the mic at this point.
