did i find a bug or my setings are bad ?

for example - on my sim card i have entry JOHN S and in my phone bok i have entry JOHN SMITH.

when i receive sms i see name JOHN S

wtf ?

This question has been posted before. It's not your problem. Sim entry is over phone entry! On all recent Ericsson and SE phones.

It is also incorrect.....
This has never happened to me.
And I have had a t65,t68i and currently have p800.

I think it is a resonable design. There should be a priority of handling anyway. Prior to T28/T29/R320, The phone software handles the number entries on SIM and on phone both. You can also edit SIM entry on those phones. From R380/T39/R520, phone entry on SIM can be ignored almostly, as the phone memory is much more.

And it does not happen on my p800,t65 or t68i!!!

So it is not a "standard" thing.

two things: On Nokia's it only occurs if the selected memory is Both and not Phone. On my P800 it is present, I don't know how it is possible that it works on someone else P800, maybe you don't have any entries in the SIM for that number?
