I am going out on a limb and will say the X compact is everything one could expect from the name alone, Xperia X Compact. Meaning, same specs, identical (similar) design but smaller, like we had with the previous compacts, Z5c, Z3c and Z1c. So I am not sure why people were expecting super high end specs on a compact for a model that doesn't feature high end specs. That being said, it is puzzling why Sony opted to have a completely different design on the Xc versus the regular X. Hopefully consumers won't make the mistake and buy the compact X thinking it is a smaller XZ but with the same specs.

The supposed price of 379 GBP (450 Euros) is ok at best, but looking at the price for poland, the compact will be price at 2199 pln (~500 euro), which while less expensive than the Z5c, and 400 pln (91 euros) cheaper than the regular X. Not sure the price is in the right range, I feel it should be 1999 pln (458 Euros) to bring it under the 2K pln mark.

One thing, the compact models do appeal to women I notice so the mist blue colour should help but I feel Sony could have offered pink or some more colourful options to attract more women. No doubt Japan or asia at least will get a pink colour.

anywyas, time to wait for some reviews and better yet real world reviews from people who bought one.

FIGURES ... just my luck!

I go out last night and purchase an iPhone 6S 64GB and then this is announced!
Buyers remorse ... worrying. Well maybe my son will get a nice upgrade and I'll go and order this for my shores = Canada.

Quality upgrade to teh Z5 Compact ... I was leaning on the fence and looking for a BNIB already by a local but those dried up on Kijiji/craigslist.

Looks like you will have to order it from europe or maybe US (once it goes on sale there) because there are no plans for the X compact and XZ to go on sale in Canada. Check mobilesyrup for more info.

I honestly think the X Compact will be the battery King of 2016, the SD650 CPU is very efficient, way more than the S810 will ever be. The Z5 Compact still has very good battery life but I do expect the X Compact to do much better.

I'll be uploading a video to my YouTube channel soon regarding video stabilisation on the X Compact if anyone is interested in it. By the way the phone rocks, much snappier than the Z5 Compact ever was.
