I have significant battery drain too with this update. I need to charge my phone 2 times minimum with bare usage and minimum apps. Also the phone heats up for no reason, with camera extremely laggy. Dont like this update, really annoying.

I just rebooted again and the batt life came back to perfect normal.
0% drain overnight...

We will see. I still don't know which process is killing the batt life.

So I have a crazy problem.

Messaging app seems somehow corrupted
It freezes and asks to force close in most threads.
The message list is fine, the problem starts when I enter messages
However there is no clear pattern since some work...
Rebooting, clearing data doesn't work...
Anybody?

XZ still rock solid working for me, can't any happier that Sony
consistency keep Security Patch updates intact month after month

App that force close / won't launch is occasional happens with facebook, album app and sometime active browser, but nothing major issue.

The messaging issue is related with latest Chrome browser.
Sony is aware of that already.

how is the update on the XZ? my friend said she got the update and is experiencing lag when switching between apps. anybody else experiencing this?

also experiencing other bugs like being unable to dismiss the alarm notification. tapping the dismiss does nothing.

Well first time I flashed MA version and rooted using a Chinese tool for drm patch, I had lag, heat, and many other performance drops. A factory reset and another root method made it smooth and enjoyable.I would seriously recommend a factory reset to your friend. I think like every major update a factory reset is a must. It's faster than nougat that's for sure

PS: I haven't encounterd any bugs yet

Thanks joseph..

I did tell her to try a factory reset. she said she "updated 4 times" though i'm not sure what that means. her first time using a Sony device (she just bought the XZ). she's coming from an old samsung. hopefully things clear up and she can enjoy the xz the way it was meant to be.

oreo has been flawless on my XZP.

NP buddy.
If her phone is unrooted a repair with xperia companion should do the trick. Hopefully her first sony won't be her last.

hah yea.. i've been trying to convert my friends for years!

XZ is a good phone. i liked it when i had it. i just needed that 4K and stacked sensor in the XZP, in which btw, I love the burst mode.
