BTW: This will mark BlackBerry's (yes it's BlackBerry not Blackberry) fourth time changing it's mobile OS:
C++ based with the 850 classic BlackBerry pager,
Java/CLDC/J2ME based OS for BBOS
BB10 based on Q10,
and finally now Android.
Personally ... used to love them still support them via corporate tools in production ... but as a hardware company this is a no no .... no thanks.

price is ridiculous to buy unlocked in Canada, like almsot 1k CAD, better if I just import a Z5 Premium with much better spec. |

Pretty steep price. This is the ONLY way I would consider an Android phone, love BB10 more than any other OS but if BlackBerry pull off the security aspect on this phone I will jump in. Of course, that depend on whether there is a new high-end BB10 phone in the works, if there is then I am waiting for that instead of this.

More importantly you will KNOW you'll get warranty support. BlackBerry CEO has publicly stated that if they don't meet their goal of 5 million devices total in 12mths their are DONE in the Hardware business. Those that just bought the BlackBerry Passport and Passport SE ... will not get full support IF the Priv is highly successful. Mediocre OS support and updates and only corporations and governments will see major updates to BB10.
This is NOT a company which is foresting good consumer/prosumer or corporate client confidence in their hardware. Talk about a way to SINK the SHIP before offering your products.
