"Nothing more really"? Isn't that enough? That's where Xperias were struggling the most compared to other flagships. Digital stabilization is good at stabilizing videos but it reduces the amount of details.

PS. There's no OIS in the RX1 because therew as no space for it because of massive sensor. It makes up for it in low light situations.

Sony is totally bragging about the Z5's camera. Sadly, note 5 captures sharper images although from my xperience with the z series, the camera is really capable with the right tweak and settings. It's just crippled by superior auto

They're not putting OIS in all their cameras

Firstly, Sony doesn't use Optical Image Stabilization in their camera (OIS is nothing more than a controlled decentering of optical element), they use sensor shift stabilization which moves the whole sensor.

Secondly, their high-end full-frame RX1 didn't include any kind of stabilization for pictures and yet it was capable of producing outstanding shots.

Thirdly, benefits of stabilization are best when used with tele lenses or in low-light. In daylight when paired with fast lens you won't see much difference.

In case of mobile cameras, OIS can help with lowlight shots - with shaky hands, noisy pictures but nothing more really. So I agree that Sony should work on engineering either OIS in their next lens or shrink their sensor shift mechanism, the latter would be better for marketing

Depends what we call OIS. You are correct in saying Sony uses an OIS system which moves the entire sensor but there are some lenses from Sony and other companies that provide OIS. Both my 35 and 50 mm from Sony have optical steady shot built into the lenses. My 18-105 G lens also has OSS.

As penguino and you wrote, OIS would help with low light photos to increase more light.

iphone6 vs 6plus (with OIS), shows the difference OIS can make

@Shino03

The video seems like another commercial disguised as a review. Funny enough, her model has the new camera app which is supposed to debut in November. While manual mode on xperias is great, the average person buying the phone will not bother with the settings and will just use superior auto, and this is what Sony needs to fix.

Also something I noticed, seems like the SCN mode selection is still capped at 8MP, when she selected fireworks, she selected 8MP. Shame if true.

Once devices start hitting stores and people begging using the camera, we will find out if Sony fixed the noise issue and made a great, good, average or poor camera.

I can't seem to find links to the full photos like phonearena. Hard to judge it using only small photos. Need to pixel peek.

Guys, I read on headfi and whathifi that z3 has a very great audio quality. Better than HTC one m8, iPhone 6/6 plus, galaxy note 4 and galaxy s6 with wolfson dac. Only the volume was a let down compared to others. So tell me why we need s-master amplifier again? It will overheats and drains battery like crazy for a little gain in sound quality.

@penguino

without cropping, xperia z5 looks better than s6 on that red car pic.

without cropping, all the z5 photos are better than s6. I don't understand why.

I think the Z5 picture has over saturated red, while the S6 has some pinkish hue.. or under saturated red...

from a close up perspective, S6 produces more details and sharper edges, see the numbers edge in number plates and see the dotted circle on it also ( I think that is a Europe Union thing ), it's almost not appearing in Z5 !!

And the other picture.. hmm the Z5 post processing seems to make something like Photoshop Smudge effect on the picture... S6 is not that much better, but the difference is obviously there.. and the better one goes to S6 sadly I say... thought color reproduction feels more goes to Z5 than S6...

I guess Z5 series is a good progress toward a better camera, it's a very good step in the right direction and we're still talking about a non-final SW on a new sensor from a new collaboration between Sony Camera department and Sony Mobile... So we'll have a lot to see and discuss in the coming months... you can't get everything once

Z5 has the best color. BTW, I really want to see 8 mp oversampled photoes. If you compare Z3's 8 mp with other phones you will see that Z3 has least amount of noise. All the sample from all the site seems to be taken with 23 mp. At night scene I believe Z5 will produce the best pic in 8 mp and it will beat all the other phone quite comfortably. It will have the best color and best noise performance plus lots of details.

I really wish you would just open your eyes.
They are not the same.
Photos from the ZoomIT link I posted the door is OPEN on the PhoneArena's site the door is CLOSED.
Zoomit (Look at the door - OPEN)

PhoneArena (Again look at the door its closed)

So there for they are NOT the same photos nor are they "fake".

Thank you very much.
Now please just think before you post calling photos fake or the "same" when all you had to do was luck.

Hi, @Kabiluddin

The photos at ZoomIT were taken at 3840 pixels × 2160 on the Z5 which is 8.3MP according to Flickr when you click download in original size...
