Glad to see the Note5 and S6 Edge+ improves the battery life by some minutes over the Note 4, despite the batt. being a whole 220mAh smaller, Samsung truly rules when it comes to Power Saving Tech, looking at those graphs, as the phones around the Note 4, Note5 and S6 Edge+ are using much smaller Screens with only HD1080P Res and batteries that are around the same size, or even bigger than the Samsungs, truly incredible .

This is why I laugh at people who believe a QHD display will mean poor battery life. The S6 Edge+ gets exactly the same rating as the Xperia Z3, despite the Z3 having a much smaller display, with much lower Res, yet a battery that is larger.

I still can't get over the 64GB Internal Mem limitation with no 128GB variant or MicroSD slot in both Note5 and S6 Edge+, they seem to be lovely phones, but I really need either 128GB Internal or Mem Expansion.

You just forgot to mention that Z3 uses a Snapdragon 801, built on the old 28nm architecture...
With a 14nm processor is a must of Samsung achieve this results.

My Note 4 never gave me more than 6 hours of SOT + 22 hours of usage while my previous Xperia Z3 easily passed 08:30 hours with 36 hours+ of usage.
Are you nervous?

Luca-s , but Note 5 has a smaller battery, larger screen with a higher resolution so I dont think it is a must to match Z3. No one is saying that z3 doesn't have a great battery, but that it is great that Note 5/edge 6plus can match it despite the above

I have used both the Note 4 and the Z3 for long periods and there is no way the Note 4 beats the Z3 in everyday use. That is rubbish, I'll never accept that. My Z1C gives me one and a half days and the Note 4 less then a day used sparingly. My personal real life tests are more reliable than these dubious websites.

Yes, i know this.
But i'm talking about the usage performance/processor architecture.
The Exynos version of Note 4 don't come even close to Xperia Z3.
I guarantee.

And against S6/Edge is another K.O.
Sony have the best battery performance out there, period.
Samsung should learn with it.

Here's a screenshot of my "old" Xperia Z3 to you understand what i'm talking about.

Sony should definitely be prould of themselves when it comes to battery performance.
The Xperia Z3 has a smaller display with lower resolution, yes that's true. The Xperia Z3 also has a more "power hungry" display than any Super AMOLED.

GSM Arena has given it 85h in their Endurance rating with KitKat.
Compare that to the Samsung Galaxy S5's 72h Endurance Rating with smaller and more power efficient display.

There is no real need to slander other companies, just to make your favourite brand look more favourable.

I get well over 7hours SOT and over a days use with my Note 4 and that's with the 28nm Snapdragon 805.

Interestingly the Note 4 got 90h on GSMArena's battery test on Lollipop, and the PhoneArena results show it not to be far behind the Z3 despite the Note 4 having a 28nm CPU, much larger display with a much larger resolution.

Back to my point, Samsung have done a fantastic job with the Note5 and S6 Edge+ battery life, despite them having much lower capacity batteries plus QHD Displays.
People forget that SAMOLED Displays are only efficient with Dark colors, when you web browse the pages are mostly white and despite that the Samsung's maintain great battery performance.

I don't think he was trying to slender Sony , he was just praising Samsung on a job well done .

And there are a lot of factors that come into consideration when it comes to battery so just looking at the final numbers iant to me a definite proof of who is better with battery life. For example I get comparing Samsung s5 with Sony Z3 because the internals are all the same . But to compare z3/vs ss6 yiubhave different screens and different batteries . And super amoled is better for battery at watching videos but certainly not at internet browsing so to automatically assume that a phone with super amoled should have better battry life is wrong

Anyway back to the topic I am happy to see that the battery life is good (even though I will most likely not buy this phone )

BTW, I can also get over 9h SOT out my Note 4, despite the 28nm Snapdragon 805, huge 5.7inch QHD Display, a whole lot of web browsing (lots of White pages), social media, email etc...constant usage. As I always charge when go to bed, it is very rare that I let a phone run over 14hours off charge, unless its during the weekend and I am not sleeping at home.

With the above, I'd love to see how far the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ can make it, as they should have the latest of Lucid's Power Saving Tech.

Did I read this right? Out of 13 hours your phone has been on, you have been using it for 9 hrs? What do you do for so long on the phone?

@Tsepz_GP

I think you got it wrong about SD 805 using 28nm, its actually 20nm.
