how do i, on a t68i, set my number to hide or show once and for all. this may sound blasphemous but i can do it on a nokia. why cant i do it on a SE t68i?
anyone know how? is there a secret menu for this? or is SE just lazy in this department (hope not)

When you select a number to call before pressing the green phone button press the options key. There is a command to hide/show number. |

@Orka that only does it for that particular call. AFAIK, there isn't an option to permanently set the phone to show or hide the ID.

To hide call-id put a code #31# before a call number. But it's a network dependent.

On a nokia, the setting is as follows:
Settings>Call Setting>Own Number Sending>[On]|[Preset]|[Off]
I have now found out what nokia does:
When you dial the number it actually puts the code for your country and network infront of the number for you. If you already have the code there though, it overrides the phone settings.
It doesnt let you know this but it does.
I had to call my netowrk (Telstra) and ask them to block my number. This allows the override codes to work but will hide my number for all other calls.
Also, beware - if you put the code infront of the number in your phone book you must manually type it to send a message. The code will case the message to fail and actually stall your phone.
Thanx for all the help guys
