http://www.wirelessnewsfactor.com/perl/story/15759.html Nokia themselves reveal a similar like 8310 model to compete against US another web site says "Analysts believe Nokia's new color-screen phone, which will be squeezed into the product line before the 7650 phone comes out, will be similar to the tiny 8310 monochrome-screen model" http://asia.cnet.com/newstech/communications/0,39001141,39013013,00.htm

This is my first Ericsson phone. My previous phones were a Nokia and a Motorola.

The Nokia is a great phone to just make calls, send sms. Does it well and is simple for anyone to use.

The Ericsson appealed to me cus my local dealer offered a great tradein deal. The phone is really complete and so far I'm quite happy with it except with the sometimes slow menus

Don't write off Nokia yet.. but as consumers we're benefitting from this keen competion yah ?

I'm sorry to say but don't write nokia off at all!!! Like someone else said on this forum 'Nokia have been constantly making good phones for the past few years and now ericsson come out with one good thing and everyone thinks Nokia is out of the picture' I'm gonna say and you lot won't like it but..... I'm a Nokia man through and through, yes I've had problems over the past 3 and a half years with my nokia phones but none as annoying as problems and faults in this damn phone!
Ericsson need to sort this thing out and I hope it gets done in the next firmware upgrade otherwises it's bye bye T68 hello 8310colour!

True.

Nokia will never be able to include same kind of software bugs to a phone than SonyE has, and Nokia will never be able to make a software as slow as SE has...

Rooivalk very good points there

Apaman how about we have a topic all about which is better Nokia or Ericsson or maybe we should just call the forum 'my dad is stronger than yours!' Honestly, half the people in this forum need to grow up!

And John74 on a more serious note, the 7650 was never meant to be Nokia's version of the T68 I mean look at it's weight! The only things they share are a colour screen! (and MMS and blah... I know, making a point. It's is a gimmick phone people don't need an extra 150g in their pockets!) You'd be just as justified in saying that the T68 was made to battle with the communicator (I wonder how many people are gonna reply to this having only truly read the last statement and ask what the f*k is he on about! - for those people read the whole topic!)

you know here in the philippines nokia phones are known to crash or hang and when dropped damage occurs like a busted lcd screen. not durable you know. that happens to all nokia's models here so to those nokia lovers out there from other countries, shut up! you do not know shit. this country is the only place where nokia sold the most phones but where nokia phones price value quickly lowers. quality sucks!

I never ever damaged my phone to the point where a screen was broke or even the phone was unusable and plus their customer service was excellent!!
I did have a faulty screen (8210) didn't everyone and they repaired it free of charge in 5 minutes.

Why do you think the nokia screens break!!!?? Look a the size of them compared to the old ericssons - come on don't be stupid!!!! We'll see in a few months time when people start getting a little less careful around their T68s TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah right bjambean. nokia phones that are coming out here are low in quality and not durable. sonyericsson has japanese blood in it coz as we all know japanese products are renowned for durabilty like their cars. i emailed nokia and told them to fix software bugs in their phones before selling them here. i can make a nokia phone hang by just typing a text message faster if it's fw is below ver. 5. i did that 3 times with my bro's new 8310 ver. 4.7 you know.

Ok but anyway I think it's time to curb bickering.

Basically I have had Nokias for the past 3 years and have been about 95% satisfied with everything of their I have bought (everything could do with improvements) now for the first time I have ventured into ericsson waters and all I'm saying is that the expirience so far has been less than desirable for the £180 that I flogged out for the phone and yeah - it's a new concept and I'll give it till the next firmware upgrade after the MMS (R1D) before I pass final judgement

The 'Colour 8310' was predicted to be the 'groundbreaking new luxury phone' that Nokia had said they were going to announce last month, which turned out to be the 8910. Nokia's next phone announcement should be the 6310i... I guess Nokia have absolutely got to show a massmarket colour phone (eg. not the 7650) at Cebit, or they'll be laughed out of the show.

All companies have their memorable times, Nokia 2-3 years back was setting standards for cellphone, as in all companies dark days come around, being on the top and not feeling any competition to break grounds with new phones and technology. Since has been working really hard in developing the best mobiles that man kind in this side of the hemosphere can imagine, and Nokia has just been blown to the sidewalk, hopefull we can see Nokia back at work and try to outtake , remeber guys this is all just benefiting us since we are the consumers
