Wonder if we'll see two variants of the Z4 which has been mentioned a few times but one is a Nexus/GPE edition just like the Z Ultra.

A Sony Nexus would be very tempting. It would make a great deal for Sony too.
Depends, if it is Nexus, no micro sd card support, so the device has to be a minimum of 32gb, like the Nexus 6. While google's camera is good, I am sure if Sony's imaging team pulled their ass together, they could create really good software and algorithm, but that is yet to happen, so perhaps the stock google camera might be a better choice in the end.
On a different note, Sammie will be using 20MP with OIS in S6, so it seems OIS is the way to go, hopefully Sony will ot disappoint and just over a regular 20MP with no OIS. |

I am content with 64gb without memory slot. Anything below that with memory slot, just won't cut it.

Google will force them to have 32g min if they won't do it. Camera will be using Sony sensors and google software for sure, google will probably force them to have a lens with OIS, but might be a 16 MP shooter. |

Even if Sony is working with Google on a new Nexus phone it won't appear before Q4 2015. October/November is the usual time of Google announcing Nexus phones. Next in the line would be a tablet.
The reason why Sony won't announce any flagship phone at MWC is imo the strong competition. HTC is rumored to announce 2 high-end devices and so will Samsung. And those devices will be very well equipped and will a have a notable spec-bump compared to their previous generations, whereas Sonys main difference will be the upgraded soc. The Z4 will use the same design as the previous generation(s), the same display resolution (bad in terms of marketing), the same camera (at least on paper)...The S6 along with the S6 Edge will grab a hell lot of media attention, so even without the presence of HTC it would be hard for Sony to "shine" with their Z4. Long story short, announcing the Z4 sometime after MWC is a good move. |

If there is a GPE edition hopefully it will be available world wide not just in US.
Anyway I would be interested in a Nexus made by Sony (but something in Nexus 6 size ) |

+1
Totally agree, Sony should already moved to 32GB with microSD long time ago ( at least with Z3 ), and if there's no microSD, then they must have 64GB not 32GB...

It had options, either 16GB or 32GB... Sony don't give any option, take 16GB or die...
and I think when they will have 32GB, it will be the same... no other option...
I like what Apple offers in terms of internal storage, thought I don't like the price premium they put to double the amount of memory while it won't cost them even $20

I'll always prefer the option of expandable storage. It's just nice to have the option. 16 GB internal is too small though.

^ Locked to a carrier I'd expect it to be even cheaper, possibly around £80 which I'd say is very good value considering the E1 is still between £40 to £50 at most retailers.

Interesting poll: "IF I HAD TO CHOOSE TODAY, MY NEXT PHONE WOULD BE FROM... (BRAND)?":

Sony is most wanted, smashing the competition with 23.57% of the votes. now they need to translate this to sales. |

agreed 16 is way too small. even with expandable storage, it's way too small since android doesn't let you install apps on the SD card anymore. with any decent number of apps, you're taking up more than 60% of the internal space. not cool.
I think minimum is 32gb with expandable storage. if it's 64, i could go without expandable storage, but i always welcome it. nice to just pull out a card and stick it in another device when you need/want to.
