Guys, Sorry for posting here but can you adjust the size of the icons on Z3 Compact after the latest update? Like in Z Ultra? |

If the above dimensions are true then it should have 71.xx% screen to body ratio (as for example, oneplus one) but i suppose also with a very slim profile that sony likes, i would bet even below 7mm because of more surface to work with. |

as big as note 5 and edge plus. 76 mm isnt bad but 154 mm is too much , even c4 has 150 mm length, i guess upper and below bezels isnt small... fhd is probably test unit.

You guys know that UAprofs aren't 100% legit? Often just some placeholders. Do you really expect Sony to introduce a 4K display phone?

yes
something like 4k is too specific to become a placeholder.

If it was 154x76 then it's actually just a shy little larger than Note 5 which is 153.2 x 76.1
Total area for Note 5 is 11658.52mm², Total area for rumoured Z5+ is 11704mm²

0817 is just a Z3 by the looks of it, probably dual since the 2 large flaps match my z3 dual, yup manual says D6683

@stook
perhaps sony was not able to get 4k panels just yet for the prototypes or only some prototypes had the 4k panels. Or the 4k was a false rumour and the devices will ship with standard full HD panels. We'll see next week. |

Supposedly new info regarding the new camera sensor: "XPERIA IMX300 open with full pixel oversampling 4K nice matter, as to what I reduces rolling shutter problem with the sensor support high-speed cutting width 4K / 60p."
IMX300 is the new sensor name but i dont' quite understand the rest.
A new info regarding z5+ 4k display and battery life concerns: "Xperia Z5 Premium regarded as proven, many people worry that 4K will seriously affect the life of the screen, but this time Sony is also clever only in pictures and videos of the time will be full resolution rendering, rest of the time in accordance with 2K resolution (pending final confirmation) rendering, Of course, the 5.5-inch screen is fine enough 2K".
So i read z5+ will have a 2k display resolution and 4k resolution only when viewing photos and videos (4k x-reality?). how is that possible? |

I'm going to assume it means that the display itself is 4k, but for the GPU rendering non-photos and videos on the screen, it'll treat multiple actual pixels as a single pixel. For example, 4 of the 4k pixels could be grouped together to form a single 1080p pixel. This way the GPU has far less work to do than if it were to render a 4k image. The display itself will still show 4K pixels, but we know Sony has had tricks to save battery life with static images, so they might be able to work around that
Gonna be keeping a very close eye on the Z5+ as a Z Ultra replacement. |
