Come and live here in the summer, you will sweat like hell... and if you work outside.. hell even your pants/clothes will suffer from it... in my old days of feature phones, the Sony Ericsson port kept getting moulds from all of this, even the gold plated contacts... not to mention the ear speaker & mic holes...
It just started now to cool of a little bit, temps. now are like 40~42 C now, humidity is 70%~80%
Thanks god I work inside in AC'ed office

Bahrain is Bahrain. If you need it for work, there are much better alternatives. If you want it in style, sure, Sony might be on the list for those rare and extreme climate zones where they are still selling. For any other climate - it's simply not needed. I have had the original Z for almost two years now. Have never tried watering it in full because of sony's policy on water damage. If it gets damaged even because of the faulty seal - they will refuse any warranty claims. So yes it's a gimmick, regardless of where you live, simply because sony do not stand behind their cheaply-made products. |

I agree with one thing you wrote and it is the waterproofing went wrong situation. As i wrote before, imo in the long run sony will do better with less ip rating (something like ip63) but with super high quality front stereo speakers because of a few reasons:
1. It is more desirable feature then ip68 rating no matter where you live.
2. It is just too damn risky putting such expensive device in water even if it is ip68 because no one promise that the phone will be 100% protected.
3. If the phone is damaged from water then no warranty will cover for it and it will result in paying money for repair.
4. When i think about sony one of the things that comes to my mind are top audio quality, not waterproofing. I want "wow" and "one sony" to be resembled in front speakers quality.
5. Better heat dissipation (?). |

So I ask you once again.
Why are you here in the SONY XPERIA RUMOURS thread?

With the USB now open at the bottom of the phone we should see new docking style accessories right?
So far we only have a single charging stand for Z3+, but I would expect to see something like the bluetooth speaker charging pad getting a revamp.
Of course, things will change again when (if) the type-C connector starts to make an appearance. I read somewhere, maybe on esato, that type-c is being held back because it is incompatible with Qualcomm's quick charging tech. But then a quick google search suggests otherwise..

i'm done with docks as they keep changing the connectors.. i'd like some nice accessories though. perhaps some car accessories made for the phone. those universal ones don't always hold them right and always hit the buttons.

Not sure if evleaks is being sarcastic or he actually believes the post but he thinks Sony Georgia just leaked the Z5 line ahha. Nodar is famous.
Nothing on FCC for now so it seems either the 3 devices on the fcc are the new z line or something else. But checking the fcc docs the label, ie sd card slot I feel along with nano sim seems to be on the right side of the device.
Click label at this link

But in the leaked photos so far there is no slot on the side, it is smooth.

So not sure why this is like this, perhaps the device on the fcc, PM-0818 is something else? The z3 tablet appeared on the fcc after ifa 2014, more around middle of september but then the phones were earlier in the year. Maybe we missed something on the fcc?

Evan already tweeted that this isn't an official site. After tweeting him that this 'official info" mainly comes Form esato and weibo he said: Ya, figured that out pretty quickly, but as I said, I've heard the same information from people who have first-hand knowledge.
