keep in mind it's running a pre-release sw, but nevertheless it is quite worrying to see the system shut down so fast after a few seconds. at least you can cool your z3+ in an ice bucket  |

Why do people keep discussing announced products here? If there are no rumors, then so be it. I'd rather read nothing than waste my time reading non rumors.

Nothing new about anything for later this year. Who knows if there's any truth behind the rumours for new phones at IFA...
Sony Australia did say the following about z3+ release:
"We aren’t planning to range the Xperia Z3+/Z4 in this market at this time"
Now I don't know if this decision will change, or if it was incorrect info given by a Sony employee. Guess time will tell whether the phone will be released here or not.
But if indeed it is NOT released, then it's very likely we'll see a new flagship at IFA or whenever. As I doubt they would want to keep the z3 as a flagship device in Australia (or any other market for that matter) up until the next announcement, which would be either CES or MWC 2016. That would mean the z3 would be flagship for well over a year if they waited til either of the above 2 events. (Released October 2014 here)

SONY MOBILE in my country will not sell Z3+ also. I feel bad as I want to have it so much.
Otherwise I hope I will see the next flagship soon. |

Z3+ will not be sold by sony in my country as well. not surprising at all though. nobody really expect it to sell outside of selected countries as they did not announce it to the world in an event. that is another support for ifa announcement. regardless, they are most likely to announce 3 new flag phones at ifa, the devices are not a rumor - variant codes officially revealed by the Indonesian site. |

^True. We have the codes  . I am eagerly waiting for E6833. Hope they bring the split screen for the next ultra. I quiet liked the one in ios 9 yesterday. 6 inch 2K metallic ultra sounds terrific  . I kind of hate Sony about the leaks. There are still none for ifa products.
Seriously IFA will have Sony phones. Can't really say Z5 series or the Z4 Compact and Ultra series though. Time will tell. |

Yeah, I feel like they would not announce any new flagship this year, after Z3+.. Until I remember that Sony registered E68xx, E58xx, and E66xx in POSTEL. because Exxxx is 2015's model number coding, so I'm 95% positive that they will announce Z5 (E66xx) this year along with Z5 Compact (E58xx) and Z4 Ultra (E68xx)

that person leaked that news in early may.. besides, I think the next flagship will be called Z5, because Z4 name is already used in Japan, even if the international version is Z3+, but it will be confusing for some people if they name it Z4.. and also, I didn't trust ViziLeaks from the beginning |

It is an old prototype based on Sony Super Top Emission OLED and WhiteMagic technology nothing new.
The only thing that i don't like with OLED is they have frequently been too high in contrast, making shadow detail impossible to see in bright scenes other than that i have no problems.
The advantages of JDI OLED is.
1. RGBW instead of RGB or Pentile in theory it will be brighter but still consume less power and has better image quality + sharper than Pentile AMOLED.
2. By using White OLED as a backlight they will have no problem with Blue OLED short life span.
At the end of the day if JDI can maintain the quality of the screen as sony do on their Trimaster monitors, JDI OLED will beat the crap out of Samsung Diamond Pentile AMOLED display in everything.
