September release is just purely speculation. Z3 got no real features that stand out from the M9, S6 or G4. Launching this late is basically suicidal.

Interesting that huyi says June release and Hdblog.it as Phonearena are referring to, are saying later release date.

Most people here are stupid. When Sony releases a flagship phone every 6 months they say it's too early. Now Sony is trying to release a phone on atleast a 10-12 month interval they still have a problem with it. iPhone 6 was released almost the same as the Z3 and we all know that the next iphone will look just exactly like the iPhone 6 with just upgraded internals and apple will release it after a year. Sony make changes with every iteration of the Z series. Coming from a Z1 the changes to Z3 is huge. If you hate Sony so much then go to the Samsung forum and praise the metal and glass s6 which is very new to Samsung. Go to the company that copies Apple and call it project zero.

First of all, everyone want them to be competitive, and yes 6 months cycle is retarded so people are hoping Z4 will be the last on 6 months cycle launching not too far apart from S6 and M9 and then year end release for compact and ultra series to differentiate their own flagships. And Z2 to Z3 were almost retard 6 months cycle, and the internal is almost identical. Personally, I think they should release compact and Ultra in H1 and regular 5" in H2, that way they are bring out new a fresh products and don't go head on with the typical standard then phablet cycle. Cuz Samsung will out spent everyone in marketing no matter what. |

The point is releasing a flagship phone with a spec. that is found in 3 - 6 months old phones is the problem... specially knowing that that phone will stay for 1 year...
Take the full picture then judge...

Looking at all these conflicting rumours, I'm just wondering if the idea of Z3x in June with 810 then Z4 in late 2015 with 820 is correct, thought I don't think that 820 will be ready for a phone release in September...

Well, they will not be late because all android flagship phones have the 810 onboard. The 820 is not yet available and because of Qualcomm's history of delaying the 810, i believe that it will not be released this year. Admit it all flagship will have the same specs. Only Samsung is different with their SOC but the rest of the specs are the same like 3 gb ram, FHD/QHD screen. I guess the best Sony shoud do is release a 6plus alternative a Z4 Ultra aside from its normal and compact flagship. With the Z3 i believe they created a product at par with the competition and the Z4 would be much better. They just really lack marketing push. They should hire the best advertising agency and top models to do the advertisement. They should advertise it as a Premium Product like Dolce and Ck.

I've been here for a number of years and have realised that if Sony release something early, people complain and wait for the competition to release their phones then pass judgement. If Sony release something later, people complain saying that everyone has got a phone now so why bother with Sony? Apple release the iPhone months later than everyone so why is it a crime for Sony to do the same?
Think about the marketing aspect this time around. Skyfall was the most successful Bond movie ever and was praised by everyone under the sun. Spectre is building the hype, they already unveiled the Aston Martin and they're using the Jaguar supercar too. The Danial Craig era of movies is a major step up from the previous junk and the modern Bond has a much better image in terms of movie quality, style and generally being more serious. No matter how many Apple and Samsung adverts you're going to see in the coming months, the image of 007 holding a Z4 in his Aston Martin while drinking his Martini while shooting some scumbag will trump all of that.
If the Z4 uses the 810 and stays cool, it'll trump the HTC. If the Z4 has an SD slot and has great battery life, it'll make people think twice about the S6. Make it beautiful and put it in Bond's hand then everyone will notice it for as long as people are talking about the movie. Make a good phone Sony and the rest will take care of itself. |

Waterproofing is one of a hell feature most people tend to ignore! If it is something useless or easy to implement, why not the rest of flagships implement waterproofing on their elegant designs?
The list can go one with details beyond screen, ram and cpu. |
