Small steps are better. Huge leaps tend to scare people.
I wonder if someone will confuse it with Windows8

I'd buy the next iphone with a larger screen. Looks good bit as long as they don't lose the the user friendliness of iOS which many come to love and make it too complex like Android

agree on that... nothing major indeed.
most of that stuff are already on Android... I think the biggest selling point of the upcoming iPhone 6 is its large screen.

cheers!

Official iPhone 4 support to come to a halt with iOS 8
updated 04:31 pm EDT, Mon June 2, 2014

Signature device was already feature-limited

Once iOS 8 launches this fall, Apple will officially drop compatibility with the iPhone 4. The information was touched on just briefly during today's WWDC keynote in the form of a slide. The oldest compatible iPhone will thus become the iPhone 4S; for iPads the minimum will again be the iPad 2, while for iPod touches it will be the fifth-generation model.

The change was expected insofar as the iPhone 4 has already been struggling with iOS 7. The release of v7.1 alleivated some performance problems, but the device still lacks support for features that are now de facto on most iOS hardware, like AirDrop and Siri. It's even incapable of some of iOS 7's visual effects.

The iPhone 4 is in some ways Apple's most recognized device. It helped expand the iPhone's reach in the US and internationally, and created the design language used in every subsequent iPhone. Even the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 -- likely to ship with iOS 8 onboard -- is expected to keep at least some elements intact.

Thanks to this: Extensibility may be iOS 8 best feature
The iPhone 6 5.5inch is now in my radar, so for me it is between the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 5.5inch which I'm hoping they do release this year otherwise I'll just get the Note 4. Extensibility brings iOS close enough to Android for me, apps will no longer run in their own sandbox, they will be able to interact and share info, meaning one app can add extensions e.g. Camera filters to the main Camera app, I've been wishing for this sort of thing to come since I got my iPad in late 2012, absolutely shocked to see that Apple have finally listened.

Yes today Foxconn confirmed that they are going to begin supplying the 5.5 inch Iphone 6 in August. 4.7" supplies will start next month

http://www.bgr.in/news/foxcon[....]-7-inch-and-5-5-inch-displays/

I am undecided between the two but will go for 4.7" model if the specs are same on both as I don't have big hands

@Tsepz_GP

You know, I was just thinking about my second line and what phone to get. Android is big NO for me and Windows phone is just not appealing to me. The iPhone has been on my radar for a while now and that they decided on a 5.5" screen has just made up my mind. I am definitely getting it, hopefully Apple have found a way of making their phones good in signal reception. I would also love for it to be water resistant, not a deal breaker but something I would love.

I am about to waste money cause I also love the yet-to-be released BlacBerry Q30, wish I had waited a bit before getting the Q10 but, hey, you only live once

Did you just YOLO?! Indeed, no harm in indulging in your love for smartphones, especially when one considers how long you went cold turkey.

If the signal issues are sorted you'll enjoy iOS, as it really 'just works' everything it does it does well, it's the reason why I can't put down my iPad sometimes. When will the Q30 be arriving? You seem very happy with BB10.

I'm still a bit lost, do I really want to leave Android? Android really feeds the nerd in me when I want it to, think I'll update my iPad 4 to iOS8, then upgrade to a Note 4 and continue with my iOS and Android combo that has worked so well for me, and then get an iPad Air 2 or wait for the 3 if I'm satisfied with iOS8 on the 4.

They have a very mature product already so now they can start focusing on adding all the missing features while maintaining good user experience.

The most impressive part is how well their updates penetrate their install base.. almost 90% of all iphones out there run iOS 7 and I bet that iOS8 will see very fast adoption rates as well. The biggest challenge was iOS6 to iOS7 because of all the visual changes, but now that everyone is used to it.. it will be even easier.

The iPhone 6 will be very hard to resist. I've owned an iPhone 4 and a 5 and both felt like compromises compared to my Nokia N8 and my 808 respectively, but if they add a wide angle lens and a decent flash.. I might consider it.

But either way, it will b/w the next camera flagship from Finland or an iPhone 6 for me..

Yeah, I went YOLO!

You know, I can't believe how long I went before getting a phone that really makes me fall in love with phones again. I have to say that the Q10 brought me back, it is the combination of the wonderful OS and the keypad, I can honestly say that I am more than satisfied and happy with the Q10. The Q30 is expected around the October, I think, and I am now really torn between it and the Q10. The bigger screen is what makes want the Q30.

As for Android, I really don't think I'll be coming back to it, it just didn't work for me. I actually play with my brother's iPad from time to time and I love the experience, so I know what to expect from the iPhone. For me, it is the iPhone and the BlackBerry, the problem will be if BlackBerry dies. I am still unlikely to come back to Android, I'd probably go Windows phone... that thought just makes me a little uncomfortable but I can live with it should things turn out that way.

Great news!

I will be getting the 4.7" as well since I don't have large hands. The BlackBerry Z30 will be provided to me from work soon enough and it'll be my test bed of what device size limits my hands can handle. I have an iPhone 5 currently (under warranty awaiting SIM unlock process) ... but I really love the slate IP5S ... just looks quality. If the 4.7" doesn't have a sweet design I may skip until it's second re-iteration.

Apple ... continually evolving where needed and into spaces where it CAN grow and dominate. You'll begin to see a few others in the millions migrate back to iPhone as many adjustments to the OS bring it inline to a modern use case vs the old 'stop & go' paradigm.

Dups! You and me both are liking BB10 ... just BlackBerry is moving FAR TOO SLOW to get 'er done (as hilbillies say). That Q30 has the 1440x1440 resolution and quad core CPU that is LONG overdue plus more RAM 3GB which BB10 seems to NEED desparately!
