hi Guys,

I am a T68i user and I had my phone since last year Novemebr. I had my phone with firmware R2E, which is one of the early version. It had no problem with it, except the well known slow menu and T9 response when compared to a Nokia (cos I usd one).

Then I have been hearing people posting here about new firmware upgrade. I know firmware is kind of software to be "injected" into a phone(any programmable hardware device) to give new functions and to kill off the known bugs.

I have been waiting for weeks, since ppl had R5C, then R5D, then I have done the upgrade to R6A012.

And it has created problems in my phone where it was almost perfect. My phone now is unable to finish sending off a MMS, nor receiving one.

Should firmware gets better and better, but not creating more problems when solving known ones?

This is a complain as well as a warning to those are thinking of doing an upgrade while your phone is perfectly ok. I come from a computing background, and firmware in computer hardware is rare, but not buggy like this.

holybear,

backup all the things u want from the phone to ya computer. do a master reset.

reconfigure ya MMS setting again. that's what happens when i face any software upgrade. and it work all the time.

I did the software upgrade in a servic point.

Now, they are driving me nuts~!

I talked to the service provider, and they are so reluctant to send me MMS settings, they told me someone will ring me tomorrow (after 36hrs waiting) to solve it on the phone.

I talked to the service point people, and they said, softare upgrade would only give the phone new feature, but not damaging old functions. (So, what are we talking about here at all ?? )

I talked to SE on the phone, they told me it has to be the service provider has not sent me the setting properly, or the phone is not configured properly.

I am being thrown around and I want to go back to the R2E instead this driving me nuts R6A012~!!!
