The same guy done a full Z1 v Z2 comparison he says:-
"In good light the Z2 is slightly better, in low light they both struggle and struggle with focusing and shots come out bad and soft with and without flash and in auto and manual mode." |

I'm not scouring the net for negative reviews, I'm after a new phone, I had the Z1 it disappointed me, crap screen, average camera, bulky, heavy etc, I now own an S4 which is slim, light, great camera, great screen etc and I was torn between the S5 and the Z2, I had really hoped that Sony might have sorted things out and made their camera great but regardless of what DxoMark say it's only just above average and having seen many reviews and videos it seems the S5 is better in almost every way and has much better camera pictures and video, I admit the Z2 has very good stabilization on their videos but the S5 has better detail as the Z2 is too soft and there isn't enough contrast or detail in the pictures or video, I'd rather have shakiness in the video and have more clarity, sharpness and detail.
Can you imagine what Samsung can do once they have a 20MP camera with OIS? Which will probably be in the Note 4 or the Galaxy S6? I'm not a massive Samsung fan, I own a PS3 soon to be PS4, A sony laptop and TV but Samsung phones are just better in my opinion in every way, I like plastic because it's very durable and having a removable cover that if it gets scratched or breaks you can replace. |

Maybe that's to do with tmobile firmware as my Note 3 certainly doesn't have worst battery life after kitkat
Anyway it is great to see Sony Z2 excelling in battery and camera and display. I played with one yesterday and it looks beautiful too-better looking than S5 IMO. Hopefully it will sell well -it is a shame it's availability is limited here in uk at the moment
Excelling in screen and battery maybe but the camera is not great, not much of a step up from the Z1.
Look at this comparison between the Z2 and the S5,one of many and the S5 even takes sharper pictures than the Z2 in low light.

The contrast on the Sony still isn't right with the camera, the pics are still soft and not sharp and details are still smudged by the bad compression.

Night mode on Samsung phones is excellent, why not check out my S4 pics in a very dark room?
Also Samsung phones have very powerful flashes, seen comparisons that clearly show the S5 LED flash is more powerful than the 5S Dual LED Flash (This is because Samsung have made new LED's and their first new one is on the S5) Sony phones have crap weak flashes. |

You know, I know that the Z2 has great camera (I do not know if the hailed S5 is better but I DO NOT GIVE A DAMN F***K)... he clearly do not like Z1, Z2, Z, ZUltra and other Sony smartphone, well, good for him... he will buy and like S5, S4, S3, HTC or whatever he likes! 
We'll go on with our "precious Tetris style blocky Sony phones"

haha. the reviewer says the s5 outperforms the z2 in poor light. must've been one of those lucky s5 moments. all the photo comparisons online show that the z2 is better in poor light. maybe the shot he took looked good because of the higher contrast but look at the finer details and you'll see z2 having more details and more faithful color reproduction. if he said the s5 outperforms the z2 in good light in landscape shots, i will not dare contend the claim. in full resolution, the z2 has blurs in parts although the defect appears to be minimized in superior auto mode.
also, regarding the focus, other video comparisons we've already posted here have shown us that z2 has great focus. the resulting video may lack the punch but the focus is certainly not something s5 can easily trump.
the reviewer is not so competent. when comparing battery life, he should have tried doing something that can provide a fair barometer for battery performance. he can't just say that battery life will depend on how the devices are used. that's a given. a video loop test or web browsing test, for example, can provide a good way of checking how long each will really last.
i don't know what's with these people. why do they talk that way? they sound lazy, uninterested. gsmarena and phonearena guys sound the same. |
