Unlocked. I mean carrier unlocked, but stock.
I think it's unlocked by default...

It's late so I have no energy ATM....

There are some changes which I hate ATM:

1. No Mobile data toggles in the dropdown shortcuts
2. Smses are totaly too narrow an look idiotic.
3. I have a problem deleting smses. Deleting the thread takes AGES. The app gets stuck.
4. Weather widget doesn't allow setting update interval.
5. No settings widgets on homescreen anymore.

So far I don't like it.

ANYWAY, first impressions:

Things I don't like:
The new signal and WiFi bars (look shit to me), the multicoloured top bars which are DIFFFERENT than the bottom black one.
SMS takes ages to delete the thread.
XReality doesn't work at all.
Weather widget tries to update in the background - I cannot set the time for updates.
Updates Centre is replaced by this What's New app (not that bad, but it's bloatware).
Some UI elements which had this beautiful Sony feel, are gone. Now they're flat and ugly, pretending to be modern = for kids.
This tendency is not nice for me. It's disgusting.

Some desing decisions are screaming:
The DIMMED lockscreen wallpaper.
The lockscreen album art replaces my beautiful wallpaper while playing the music WTF?
Lockscreen music player has only FORWARD, no BACKWARD. WTF?
Where are lockscreen widgets?
After the upgrade Voice Mail number was gone.
SMS text is so narrow that it's really crap to read.
And some device's settings were changed after the upgrade
Black keyboard looks worse than before.
Calendar looks like a straight rip off latest iOS - it's embarassing.

What I like :
It's very snappy and fast.
Opposite to some reports, there is a full control over sound/mute/vibrate.
I like added settings here and there.
Some UI elements are much better and cleaner.
I like the calendar and all the apps - they look better.
I think like this new notifications/pull down shortcuts look.
Double finger works - you can still pull down the sett. shortcuts by one swipe.

Camera is very good. Looks like ISO control woks even better.
Lockscreen notifications are sweet.
I like new clocks.
Multitasking menu looks sweet too.

More to come

Suming it up:
Good update. Some recent Google/Sony philosophy especially in design is not great for me.
But still, the OS seems great and fresh.

Thanks for the detailed info, Doministry.

I was looking at Xperia update checker tool and i see there are already 35 regions which has the update available. Sadly, mine isn't included yet.

I can see that overall you like the update, however, that music widget without backward button sounds pretty lame.

When you say camera is better, you mean pictures are improved, or just the overall speed/features?

Have you tried the multi user mode yet?

Multiuser I don't really care about
I think it's pointless on a smartphone which is personal.
I never give it to anybody.

The camera:
Performance meaning the photo quality,
but also - the speed! It's much much faster.

Yes I like the update - it seems like a new phone,
and on Z2 it seems to be working very well.

Edit 2.
Yes you have the forward/back controls over Music Widget on lock screen,
you just have to swipe it.

@Doministry the camera quality in daylight, pixel level wise is the same as before.. But I noticed that the overall presentation is prettier in terms of colour saturation and contrast.

Low light high ISO shots seem to be having less noise. Or is it just me?

The massive disappointment for me, is a lack of full manual controls.. I've been waiting for that since the announcement of lollipop. My shots would've been much greater with manual focus and shutter speed settings

Yes, the lowlight shots are cleaner and less noisy.
Basically I feel shots are better overall.

The manual controls - would be great. But I didn't put my hopes up.
Just because I've never heard that happening for real.
I would like them too though.

I don't care for X-Reality at all. I never use it, anyway. It makes my videos & images look unnatural and overprocessed

After some time spent with 5.02 on Z2 some positives:

- Camera is much faster in startup, pics taking and processing.
- Put some inconsistiences aside and the UI is mostly better looking than before
- Battery life is still great if not a bit better
- Camera performance is better
