did Samsung have a workaround for the SD card issue with kitkat or I should stay with 4.3? |

I'm not sure about Note 2 and S3, but they did fix their work around in the GS4 and Note 3 KitKat updates.
Speaking of GS3:

Does anyone have any idea why KitKat uses so much battery power. Almost every device is having problems with it.

Actually I've found my Xperia Z's 4.4 upgrade a blessing. 4.3 was buggy and killed the battery. I don't think people realise that it's probably best to reset the phone after upgrade as its just so laggy. Mine has worked perfectly, just need to test the throw function with my Sony blu ray surround system as it didn't work very well on 4.3. 4.2.2 was great with throw and wifi connection to surround system. I know it's probably a Sony thing but it may be through other oems connecting through wifi.

I've had great battery life on my S4 on KitKat, getting around 5-6hours screen on time over 15hours, BUT, I've noticed that Android System has a tendency to shoot up in Battery Stats, here's how mine is right now as I type this:
It seems to be a major Kitkat bug.
