Are you nice kidding me?
@king-james
Do you actually have the phone ? the phone is very fast and in the top list of the fastest phones if you sorted out the fastest phones around...
Battery life is fantastic, yes specially compared to Z... not magically.. and not the top one... but it's very good compared to the phone and the history of Sony before...

No new flagships coming anytime soon.
Z1 was a revolution in technology. Through our work with Sony’s camera experts, we were able to create a camera phone that truly blurs the lines between mobile phones and compact cameras, whilst at the same time, new technologies in processors, screens, audio and media integration all came together to produce a smartphone that is simply brilliant. It is our strongest selling smartphone to date and will continue as our flagship into 2014. |

If Sony adds better software and algorithms for the camera, then ya it will be a revolution, otherwise, currently it isn't there just yet.
IFA 2014 is probably next flagship, unless the ZU2 before that counts as well, then probably summer 14? |

Sony will have a new flagship before April at least. Everyone will start releasing phones with 2k screens and Sony needs to have one too |

Xperia Z = Yuga = C66XX, L36
Xperia ZL = Odin = C650X, L35
Xperia ZR = Dogo = C550X, M36
Xperia SP = HuaShan = C530X, M35
Xperia C = Pelican = C230X, S39
Xperia L = TaoShan = C210X, S36

It's a little too early here, but... Happy New Year to you and your loved ones .
BTT, if they would mention a successor, people would stop buying Z1. But Sony wants people to keep buying them all the time, as you can imagine.

Being a flagship doesn't mean there will be no other flagships... Sony still support Z & Z Ultra as flagships also.. but main flagships now are Ultra and Z1 (as Z1 replaces Z position)... while still supporting and maintaining Z as a flagship... I think Z will be considered as an ongoing flagship till the new device is announced then Z1 will be in second position like how Z is now...

What about better screens for later revision of Z1? It is 2014 but still same pore viewing angle screen. |

very nice comparison. overall the Z1f has better display. reminds me of the iphone display. it seems that from now on short viewing angles are a thing of the past. i'm expecting the Z1 refresh display to be even better, possibly with wrgb/pixel eyes or 2k. |

The Z1 is still quite a young phone so you can see why they would like it to continue as the flagship going into 2014, especially as they're considering it to be their strongest selling phone to date.
It could be a while before we see a phone that surpasses the Z1 specs by a good measure. If they can keep the Z1's 5" screen & specs and make it shorter and thinner then that would please a lot of people.

Read the work "CONTINUE". Is like I'm saying I'm continuing to use this shampoo but I'm going to use another one. Don't make sense at all. |

That means one Flagship per year...sounds fine
It seems like the only downside of D650x will be the camera IF Z1 is the flagship
