It's Sony vs. Microsoft so I don't see them working together anytime soon. WP handsets will surely have XBox One compatibility while you've already seen the PS4 connectivity with the Xperia Z3.

Sony can put best specs into a device, it won't help to come out from the ****** basement.

They need fast new ideas and a big improvement in build quality... And making commercials that it's devices are waterresistant is the biggest joke ever... Poor customers who have believed on that and Sony leaves them in lurch.

There's nothing wrong with the current build quality - my new Z2 is holding well.
Your final sentence made zero sense.

Sony just needs more marketing, as simple as that.
Their phones are great.

And for the WP troll, Sony should make WP phones because Microsoft is doing well compared to Sony. That's total bs. Thank god WP market share is shrinking. No one wants it.

I have it on good authority from the same person who told me about Sony ditching the 6 month flagship release before before other websites got wind of it.The Xperia Z4 will have a QHD display of 5.5" so this is no longer a rumour and pretty much all but confirmed.

Here is one rumour for next year's thred. My Sony ADM and his boss told me and few others in the same room (on a bus actually @ a Z3 promo tour) that Sony as of next will move to 9 to 10 month refresh cycle rather than 6. Starting @ MWC in March then CES in January 2016 then IFA in September 2016 and so on.

@XperiaJunkie Indeed you were the first one, how about other devices? Tablet, phablet?

^ The only info I was given was about QHD display being used. There was no mention of a tablet or phablet but considering Sony like to mirror the specs between phone and Tablet I would give an educated guess that the Tablet Z4 will have the same resolution and if there is a new phablet next year I'd imagine that to have the same aswell.

I seriously wonder if Sony has the tech to make the 5.5 inch Z4 remain similar in size to the Z3. Will be interesting how close to the Z3 they can make it, otherwise, it will be too big to use with out hand.

It will be possible just look at the Z3 Compact. It's screen jumped up by the same 0.3 of an inch and kept the hight and width virtually the same as the Z1 Compact

The hight and width of the Z3 is 146mm x 72mm. The 5.5“ QHD display by JDI measures up at 128.26mm x 70.94mm so it would fit but at a push. It would mean extremely thin bezels close to the LG G3 and it would also be a fantastic feat of design and engineering if Sony could pull it off.

It will not be possible, At least they will be forced to make it a little bit wider, the different is only 1.06mm which makes only 0.53mm at each side which is not practical at all even with very hard metal casing as any small dent will break the display...

If Sony engineers worked hard enough they will be able to keep the height the same, but widen the phone a little bit, but to be more practical design and usability they will need to make it a little bit longer also as short gaps will mean a lot of accidental touch by other parts of the hand ( the main down-side of narrow gaps )
