Z3 certifications

What does capturing Raw sensor data mean here?
Advanced camera capabilities — A new camera API gives you new capabilities for image capture and processing. On supported devices, your app can capture uncompressed YUV capture at full 8 megapixel resolution at 30 FPS. The API also lets you capture raw sensor data and control parameters such as exposure time, ISO sensitivity, and frame duration, on a per-frame basis.

Well it looks like Sony is getting further into bed with Google since it was announced that the 2015 Bravia TV lineup will feature Google TV. Sony seemed very prominently featured too since they're using Sony TVs to demo everything, and Sony was the one they mentioned first out of all the partners. I wonder if we'll be seeing more and more crossover products between the two companies.

Anyways, anyone want to guess what's going on with Sonys SmartWatches? There was no mention of Sony being a partner for Android Wear, and now we have Samsung, LG and Moto making their announcements and not a peep related to Sony. I have no doubt that Sony are making a smartwatch for this year, but anyone have any idea what features it might have, or know when it'll be announced? Going to guess IFA along with the Z3. Also, over on NeoGAF one of the users mentioned that Google had said there would be more smartwatches with round displays using Android Wear. Since we know Samsung and LG aren't doing that (at least for now), anyone want to venture a guess as to whether Sony may be doing it?

Now back to phones, just gotta voice my sadness once again at there being no Z Ultra successor Can't wait to see what the Z3 is all about, but probably going to wait for the Z4 before giving up my Ultra.

And finally, Sony hurry the frack up and build a PlayStation phone already! That is all

Sony said, when Android Wear was announced that, for now, they will stick to the whatever-OS-the-SmartWatch 2-is-using which, IMO, is a shame, since Android Wear has a huge potential, against whatever-OS-the-SmartWatch-2-is-using.

I liked how they are one of the ones using Google TV. Hopefully, that Android Silver is true: Hardware from various companies, including Sony, with Nexus-like software. I simply loved what I saw today(yesterday?) and it has put Sony into the ground. That, plus the fact I'm most likely getting a DSLR until the end of the year, is a good thing for me to not mainly worry about camera.
I don't get people. Never Have, never will.

I'm going to guess the next smartwatch will have health/lifestyle related features built into it, like the core used in the Smartband.

I'm hoping Sony go all out and show their design prowess here though, since it'll obviously be compared to all of these other smart watches, and especially the iWatch since it'll probably be announced about the same time.

I have 2014 W950B and it has android running on it already (going to support options brings up a standard android screen). I had 2013 W850A and it was all different. So it's already there, baked in. No wonder, LG has WebOS, and Samsung is heavily invested into SmartHub (will use Android sooner or later, or maybe Tizen). Sony had no choice but to go with android since their own offering in 2013 models and prior sucks. Not the best move because it will fail again, but hey, it's better than nothing. Trying to move away from lagdroid as far as possible, I guess my next TV will be samsung, too bad all their high-end 1080p models this year are curved

Now OEMs should really improve their software (looking at you Sony), otherwise camera mods will make them look sh*t.

the DNG support is welcome and I hope Sony implements it in the L update to the Z1, long shot but here is hoping.

What is the actual timeframe for the L update? September? October? Assuming the Z3 arrives at IFA, so early september and goes on sale mid to late september, what are the chances it will ship with the L update? or will Sony pull a z1 and release the Z3 with 4.4.4 and then update it to L a month or 2 later?
