Just got some interesting details on pricing of Sirius. It is supposed to be priced lower than Z1 when it first released because it is not the next flagship. A much better Z1. Rumored prices are £479, €549 and $ 550 unlocked.
The Z1 successor later this year will have a premium price tag.
Interesting news! |

@DACHA:
Thanks for these awesome news/rumors!
That's like 100€ cheaper than Z1 was at first, if I remember correctly, right?
Wow

SD 805 will be outdated before it even release. Samsung and Apple are/will be on 20nm and 805 will be produced using 28nm technology. 20nm and 64 bit.
Zero chance Samsung will release a 64 bit 20nm SOC in May
What do you mean release? Do you mean specifically in May? Or for the 'S5' (quotes are for a reason as it could be another unknown upstream device)... I would give it a much higher chance than 0%.. they WILL NOT let Apple (whose processors they create) have such a large reference over them, being 64bit. They have worked far too hard to chip away at market share to produce something they cannot themselves implement. We will see it could be another Exy 5410 though. If I was sammy i wold work on LTE on my SoC..
I mean there wont be any 20 nm products in the first half of 2014. Even Nvidia and their desktop GPU (Maxwell) is being released with 28 nm. Same with Cortex A15 version of Tegra K1, it is also 28nm
As for not letting Apple have such a large reference over Samsung, i would argue Apple has had that for the past 2 years now while Samsungs Exynos chips have been a fiasco. Samsung does not create Apples processors, they manufacture them. Wich is going to change since Apple is switching to TSMC for 20nm A8 chip
So what im saying if Samsung releases a 64 bit chip, it wont be 20nm and it will most likely still be in small quantity. Both S5 and Note 3 will use some kind of Qualcomm chip
SD 805 is still competitive if Sony chooses to use it
- There are rumors of Samsung skipping a fab node for this very reason. Nvidia is usually behind TSMC (also having trouble with 20nm (rumors)) in fabrication nodes regardless they (NV) are a poor reference.
- Except Samsung manufactures and will continue to manufacture 40% of Apples A7/8/9 (the contract was renewed through the A9) http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20131218PD207.html in order to produce at the 14/16nm by the end of next year if they are stuck at 28nm now, they are in for a very bad time..
- Samsung will force out an aborted chip like they have for the past few years, that meets these conditions but cant outperform lesser specced SoCs for some arbitrary reason.. it is my hope that this year that they succeed.
- S805 will be competitive because of Legacy and LTE (software support is mature for the SoC) check out Qs demonstrations, pretty cool stuff. But at 28nm and ARMv7.1 it may not be enough IF these other companies seize the opportunity. |

Qualcomm may have been caught napping with their re-use of Krait, but they are so far ahead of everyone else that, at least until we get more details about Denver K1, IMO, the only player capable of challenging them will be Intel. They're a little behind too, but their mobile designs are catching up fast. I think as soon as they can solve their graphics problem, their SoCs are going to start looking very attractive. I think Samsung is out of their league. Personally, I'm hoping that Denver lives up to the hype and gets some wins. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFXgGjmzwHc Xperia Z1 vs Z1 compact. Wow this Z1 screen looks very good! Perhaps it got the highest quality panel. I think it's on par with z1 compact panel
