Xperia T2 Ultra with Snapdragon 400 and quote sonymobile.com "
6” HD TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile with X-Reality™ for mobile picture engine
720 x 1080 pixels and 16,777,216-colour TFT
"

The screen resolution is obviously a typo, but going with cheap processor with such a big phone? Kind of fail isn't it?

It's not a typo, it's a cheap phone. €399 RRP in the Netherlands.

That's very cheap.

And kept under such good wraps that my local market's website has been caught unawares. They know everything and even list rumoured devices.

The T2 Ultra is actually really good in the bezel department. They even mentioned it in the press release (which only happened before for the ZL).

Xperia T2 Ultra’s stunning 6” HD TRILUMINOS display extends to within 2.5 mm of the phone’s edges. This means that it has a screen to phone size ratio of 73.6%, both making the most of the space available and ensuring that the phone is no wider than a standard credit card.

Nice. The t2 ultra is actually extremely interesting. Sony made a lot of good choices with the design. I hope the screen is good too

T2 Ultra and E1 are both not splash-proof or waterproof.

from T2 ultra's whitepaper:

Xperia™ T2 Ultra highlights
• 6-inch IPS HD screen with TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile and Mobile BRAVIA® Engine 2
• 13MP smart social camera with Exmor RS™ for mobile and Xperia™ camera apps
• Powerful 3000 mAh battery with Battery STAMINA mode
• Super performance – LTE and Snapdragon quad-core 1.4 GHz processor
• NFC-based one-touch functions – connectivity made easy
Large screen, maximum portability
For a phone with a 6-inch screen, the Xperia™ T2 Ultra has a surprisingly sleek look and feel. This is
because of the extremely high ratio of screen to phone size – 73.6%, to be exact. And the Xperia™ T2
Ultra features an easy-toggle keyboard for one-handed input. Ideal when using its mini keypad, dial pads
and easy trigger notification tray.
True colours on the 6-inch display
The wide-viewing angle screen is a 6-inch HD TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile. This means it’s built
with the same ground breaking technology as Sony BRAVIA® TVs. You can expect a wider palette and an
amazingly vivid reproduction of colours. The screen also includes Mobile BRAVIA® Engine 2, a Sony
display technology optimised to enhance sharpness and reduce noise.
