Samsung is reportedly working with software developers, such as Citrix and SAP, to offer enterprise apps that have been tweaked to work better with features found on Samsung’s mobile devices, such as the S Pen (Air View), screen mirroring, and more. Dubbed Samsung Solutions Exchange, the project aims to get an app store going for business programs, in an attempt to further strengthen its position in the enterprise market.
To help developers take advantage of its features, Samsung has released a software development kit and offers more than 1,000 APIs to its partners, partners that will reportedly include SAP, Microsoft, and Salesforce.com in the future. The app store will join previous efforts from Samsung to court enterprise users, such as VPN connectivity (part of Samsung SAFE) and the KNOX security suite.
