So I just updated to 4.4 and it all looks clear.
I haven't got into details of camera image quality.
Positive sides
+ Good loud speaker on call (better than 4.3)
+ Smooth interface
+ Like the new inbuilt cloud printing
+ new UI while calling
+ new smooth UI while messaging sms
and almost rest of the things are same, just a little bit of difference here and there
Negative sides
- Hate the black background of notifications. It's so incomplete.
=Wifi works perfectly
=No problems with the lock screen
=No problems as of now after using for 4 hours.
4.4 is good to go in India at least!
T200 -> T68i -> T610 -> K700i -> P910i -> W800i -> P990i -> M600i -> P1-> Nokia E71 -> X1i -> X10 -> Arc S -> Sony Z1 -> Sony Z Ultra -> Sony Z3+ -> iPhone 6 -> iPhone 7 Plus -> iPhone X -> iPhone XS Max |

I love my 4.4 till now, cons:
-white color is ugly on status bar
-notifications drop bar is ugly as hell, the color is always white (googles fault [they are becoming more like apple!!])
-two fingers to fast toggles, don't like it, preferred as before.
-BUG- some notification aren't going from the loudspeaker but instead are using the earphone speaker.
-phone gets hot
GOOD STUFF:
-fluid
-less ram usage
-new home style is beautiful
-camera is slightly better in superior auto (don't use it never, unless I give the phone to someone to shoot me...).
p.s. I just sent the phone to warranty, I hope that it will be back soon, I will keep you posted.

Looks like my battery has stabilised and it's now on the same level like it was with 4.3, it's awesome. |

While still no 4.4 on my device, it seems the new M8 has been announced with a 1/3" camera sensor, I was expecting something bigger from the old one, but guess not. OIS is now also gone
I feel Sony needs to keep improving the cameras even more on the phone, Z1 and Z2, add more cool apps, like ability to adjust focus after or long exposure shots, whatever, to make the phones stand out and dominate. |

Ha mine just updated, so far I see there is more battery drain, will see how it it over the next few days.
I like the lack of too status bar, cleans up the screen. Runs faster esp when unlocking when the device is on the cradle. Overall UI is more fluid, camera does seem slower, will see how good the shots are tomorrow. But so far so good, not a fan of the new life wallpapers, the colours are meh. |

i just wanted to say, that the xperia z1 is as good as every other smartphone on the market.
steareo speaker on a smartphone? bullshit! how much more gimiks do you want!
snapdragon 801 ? back in 2013 it was called snapdragon 800 AB and AC, clocked a bit higher, 2 fps gains in the benchmark, so still the same. identical to the "normal snapdragon 800"
2gb of rams
3000mha battery
awesome screen (don't give a shit about the viewing angles, as much as they try to make them important in the tech site, the only time I look at my phone from extreme angle, is when I visit this sites, and start checking my screen. head on the screen is awesome with colors that are supernatural and beautiful.
it has the best camera on the android market till date (and we will get the 4K from ports)
you know what? sony could have realsed the Z1 now as the flagship, and it would be ok for them.
don't let software gimmicks and marketing names affect you guys. the Z1 is still a flagship phone in every other aspect, think of the z2 as a Z1 variant for another market, because to be honest, it has nothing different.

So I have had the chance to have a quick play around with my Z1 running KitKat now and one thing I think is great is the new massive range of emoticons in the text message section there are now well over 100 to choose from and some are very usefull, there is also a new smoother animation when sending a text aswell. The camera feels faster and smoother to operate with a slight UI re-design in the camera apps section. I haven't found any bugs yet but the camera seems to load slower via the lock screen and that is about the only negitive I can find so far. I will need a couple of days to see if there is any improvement in the battery life but over all my first impressions are very good.
