No, can't believe. Display maybe yes, but not that problems with the lags. It struggles/stutters sometimes when I play music or videos for example.
Could you take a pic from your Z1 in statusbar?

king-james - if the display is bad, what makes you think the other components aren't too? it could be a whole load of crap wrong with it. my Z1 has experienced NO lags and i play a lot of music, videos, games, movies, streaming and not. I think you have a bad unit and if you want to give it another try, the i recommend exchanging it.
as requested, here is a shot of my screen again. first status/notification bar. it was tricky to get the white balance correct, even with my dSLR! I tried many times to try to match what I saw with my eyes. both are at 100% brightness. 2nd photo doesn't look as bright cause i had to lower the exposure so the background would come out focused. otherwise it would have been an overblown highlighted mess 
and this is cause my wallpaper is mostly white/light colors and she's cute as hell. so I thought, why not? it shows that there isn't a yellow tint to my screen 
To be honest, these pics don't even do my screen justice. it simply looks better in person and it's difficult to capture the nuance in color temp due to white balance correction. I took them with my dSLR but i didn't photoshop them (not installed yet).. so that's the best i could do on a 10 yr old camera Rest assured, in person, the whites are much brighter and whiter.. especially in the 2nd photo.

Thanks for the pics moogoo. You did effort to take this shots. Your screen looks really good.
I didn't say Z1 is bad phone, it's just not for me. So I don't need to exchange it, it wouldn't make me happy, but I hope you be. And yeah, she looks sweet.

as i said, you should go with the device that makes you happy! but who are you kidding? even if you find one that makes you happy, it only lasts til the next new device gets released! haha 
but clearly, if Z1 doesn't tickle your fancy then you should use something else. everyone should be happy with their phone and that is the MOST important thing.

crap, I think I lost them all when I did my first upgrade, I remember there was a video that came with the phone but I notice that it is gone now

the upgrade shouldn't have erased them. they're still there unless you manually deleted them yourself!

I didn't but they are definitely not there after the update, which I was surprised. Can someone upload them if they are not too big
update: I think I have found them, yeah still in my phone, but those are not what I am looking for. Could it be region specifics?

Gitaroo - that's on Z1. I'm pretty sure it's not region specific. those stock photos are on all of them. This is one of them i uploaded to flickr awhile back:
and for the love of god people.. stop posting about the red Z1 with 4.4.2!! it's been posted already.
it seems like it's fake to me since currently Google has only announced Kitkat 4.4, right? An incremental update would still be announced by google first and used by google on the nexus 5 first. Sony wouldn't be working on it so soon..

The red version is fake for sure, it appears to be a poor photoshop of the purple version. The colour blending on the frame is poor and doesn't even look realistic. |

King James - I had the Z early this year (a purple one) and I loved it, believe it or not my very first Android phone coming from an SE Satio of which I had two and still have them, Satio camera was extremely good and in some ways better than the Z, my Z was stolen - long story which I won't go into.
I then bought a white Z Ultra which was extremely good but couldn't live with the size or the camera - I might still have it if the camera had been as good as the Z1 but it wasn't and a very big problem for me - taking low light photo's was simply impossible so I sold it and waited a couple of weeks for the Z1
Right now I can't think of one single thing that I don't like about the Z1, it fills my every expectation and then some, every aspect of this device is simply awsume, I have two immediate friends that I see on a daily basis one has an S3 and the other has a brand new 5s, they are both seriously considering a switch to Sony because they can't compete on any level with my Z1
If you are not happy with the Z1 you have then there is something seriously wrong with it |
