Nice find! Pretty interesting, guess it's time to dust off the rust of my programming skills.

perhaps there's a way to utilize the bionz processor through the api .. but feed it a custom algorithm. how cool would that be?!

something to look into.. but i would guess it's not possible..

EDIT: a quick look confirms that you don't get direct access to the bionz processor through the API. wonder if there is another way.. hmmm

don't be fooled by that DX-box. they have a picture of the charging cable, but they have it a picture of the box for the Z Ultra dock. My guess is they ripped the cord out from the dock and took pictures but when you order it, you won't get the one with a Sony logo, you will get a generic Chinese one with no Sony branding.

There are some posts on XDA where people ordered from these guys and got generic duplicates instead of the real deal. and when they tried to dispute and get the right version, DX-BOX conveniently doesn't reply. YMMV but BE CAREFUL! Just think about it.. when is a sony accessory like that EVER that cheap? the dock is $50.. the cable alone should be $25-30.. if its too good to be true, it probably isn't.

I am waiting for some of the other fellas who ordered the chinese generic version from ebay to see how well they work. then i'll order one too. and the chinese versions do have white to match

I had a bad experience with dx-box as well. I bought a flip cover for my tab 7.7 before and.received a crap one which is not the originally i ordered to them. I send a mail and got a reply that they will replace with original one but as time passes, i did mot receive any item from. Stupid jerks!

^ my point exactly! it's great to get a deal, but don't let it blind you! be smart out there everyone. If you're looking for original Sony branded products, KNOW that you will pay a premium for that name. Unless you can inspect it yourself before purchasing, you'll likely get a generic brand. They are simply assuming you're a generic user who doesn't know better or you won't spend the time to dispute it with them.

here's to everyone having a good experience when buying accessories for our Z1

I just noticed that my estimated delivery time is 1030am tomorrow. I wonder how punctual FedEx is.. the problem is, I have a dentist appointment at 11 and need to leave at 1030! I'll be pissed if I have to go all the way to the terminal to pick it up. I wonder if they will accept my signature on a note taped to my door..

FedEx will deliver your phone by 10:30 am. It is a guaranteed service and we use it a lot for international shipments at my work.

Your package got delayed because of the FCC issues. Since something occurred the delivery is not guaranteed any more.

@dacha - good to know. I'll be waiting then haha..

@monkeypantz - did you submit the form? should be fairly straight forward now that you have the information you need. Seems like I may have to fill out the form too since it is also FEDEX delivering my package. Hopefully not, but if I do, I have the information handy and it shouldn't cause a delay.

@monkeypantz - sounds like it just has to go through extra processing to verify/process the FCC form. Hopefully it will be on its way to your house soon.

I've got my tracking page up and refreshing it every hour. It says it left the UK at about noon (my time).. I'm guessing the flight will be about 6 hours into the international airport here. So I don't expect any tracking changes until around 7 or 8pm tonight.

When and how did they notify you of the FCC stuff?

Okay guys, here's my initial photo samples of my Z1. Took most of them with less than 10 minute left of my lunch break or during my commute. Didn't really bother framing any of them, so don't judge the artistic quality of it . Anything with a larger frame is manual, and the smaller is superior auto.

@MNX - ah.. NYC.. my future home! Nice pics and lunch ha. Picture quality is definitely hurting. Lots of noise in 20mp mode in the subway and not much less in SuperAuto mode either. I expect better. It's not like the subway is that poorly lit.

The 20mp shot of union square park makes that right side blur VERY evident. I wonder what that is?! I really hope it's a software issue and not a hardware (i.e., lens or sensor) issue. It's there in the SuperiorAuto shot too. I would expect better sharpness in broad daylight like that..

Were your hands shaking like mad while you were rushing to take pics?

hey man, if you have enabled image stabilization please disable it! (its only good in video recording).
+ try to limit your iso to 50-100 or -200 , the subway shot was shot at ISO 1250!! that's a lot !!
