Hi Guys.

I just purchased an HBH-30 BT headset and for the most part I like it. The few things I have questions about are:

1) Echo.

The remote caller hears themselves talking. This seems to be a problem with all SE BT headsets and all I can see in the forums is that if you lower the headset volume it takes it away a little. Is this the only solution? Is this a BT problem or an SE problem?

2) Version.

I've seen in a few posts people talking about HBH-10 and getting the version of the software. Can you find out the version on an HBH-30? If so how? Can you get it upgraded? What is the newest release?

3) Voice.

With the wired included earpiece, you can hear the callers name announced if you have the voice tag setup. Since getting the HBH-30, I no longer hear this and have no idea who is calling. I have not tried it yet, but I know I can set voice tags to accept the call or reject the call, but if I don't know who's calling, that seems silly. Ideas?

Any help is appreciated.

Dave...

There's a fix for the T68 for this.
The problem isn't the headset. Go to you nearest SE SP and get your phone patched.

1) Echo - I had the same problem regarding this issue so i took mine back to Vodafone Shop and got it exchanged for a new one..... and guess what...... no echo on the other end, problem fixed. There is not echo at full volume or low volume. The new headset was manufactured in 02w50 so it is very new and must have the lasted SW version on it.

2) Version - Dont know how to check this.

3) Callers Name - Does not work on mine either.... sometimes i hear the callers name and sometimes i don't.

There are many other posts regarding this, one is

For HBH-30 version, go to Connect-Accessories-HBH (this last one may be the name of your headset). This will then show your HBH's version if this is turned on.
My HBH-30 shows up as having R2F.

I had the same problem with my HBH-30 BT headset and the T68i. I tried everything, upgrading the phone to lastest software (twice), running the HBH-30 resett software for the T68i ++. I also had the headset sent in for service where they seem to have upgarded the software too. Nothing worked. Still echo.
I tried the headset together with a Nokia 6310i phone with no problems so I ended up returning the phone and got a new one. And guess what still the same problem with the new phone. Tried a complete new HBH-30 headset with the new T68i and also there the same problem .
So, what did I do? I also returned the new phone and bought my self an P800, and now Happy days - no problems what so ever .

Well, this isn't much help. Just my experiance.

I am also having the problem with the other person reporting echoes. I have tried 2 HBH-30 headsets, a Motorola BT headset, the Jabra BT-200, and an HBH-20 unit.

All of these had bad echoes in varying degrees. However, the Jabra seems to be the only one that I can get away with keeping for business use.

My HBH-30 version is carrying R3B, is this a very new version?

I love my T68i and think the problem is with my handset and not the headset(s). My phone firmware is R6A012. Any ideas?

cmascatello,

echo - it happens to some area only, so sometimes it's because of ya service provider. there is a possibility because of ya handset, but because of the HBH-30.

R3b is the latest firmware which is equal to HBH-60 firmware R1B.... currently u can't upgrade it yet but somehow rather if u know anyone working in u might be able to get the R3b.

mind i ask is ya HBH-30 R3b bluetooth headset bought for authorize dealer?

Thanks for the reply.

I bought the HBH-30 directly from SE and their accessories fulfilment house. They have already sent me a replacement headset to replace my first one -- same problem again.

I have tried these headsets in 2 countries (US and Canada) and 4 cities and the results have ALWAYS been the same. I have other coworkers who have T68i units on the same AT&T plan that I am on and they do not have any issues with their BT headsets. i am about to call SE and see if they can help me at all.

BTW, is the HBH-60 available yet? I may return the HBH-30 and at least get the newest model if it can be had now for the same price as the HBH-30.
