Hi There!
I promised to find it and I found it!
It is mentioned in p800 white paper on page19:When a p800 is updated at a Sony Ericsson Service Point, or OVER THE INTERNET USING THE SONY ERICSSON UPDATE SERVICE...(???)

Has anybody heard about it??
I'm VERY interested in this topic!
Best Regards!
Peter

I have the P800 white paper... I can't find that section you mentioned on p19. Can you give me the name of the section it's in? Thanks!

Hi again! It is in this section: P800 Memory Organistion / Data Storage Locations. There is a picture of p800 memory allocation and the part that I mentioned is just the last part of the text before User Storage section. White Paper is the newest one from january 2003. Regaards! Peter

Well, from the whitepaper, this certainly sounds promising! Apart from hardware faults, you may never have to visit a Service Centre again.

We can but wait (me for my P800 and if updates over the internet are possible for everyone else!)

I wouldn't mind taking the risk but what about viruses? The Internet is a jungle and programmable phones increase the risk of infection. I don't think anti-virus programs deal with P800s yet

You can go to Juma Al Majid in Dubai. It is behind the Dubai - Sharjah road. Tel no is 2685552. You can call them for the exact location.
