HTC One sales are strong: 5 million sold despite supply issues |

Just as Samsung confirmed its Galaxy S4 has become its most popular Android smartphone selling 10 million in less than a month, now HTC also gets bragging rights as its HTC One sold 5 million in almost the same period.
In just about a month of full availability, HTC has sold 5 million One units and while that is half the Samsung number, it is nonetheless an extremely strong showing from a company that is said to be undergoing some tough times.
“Orders are pretty good so far and are still more than what we can supply. This is partly due to the shortage of components. When the issue is resolved next month, we will have a better idea if it's doing really well or not,” an anonymous HTC executive said.
Sales of the HTC One could reportedly have been even higher but because of constant supply issues. We’ve heard it numberous times that the UltraPixel camera was slowing the company down and ruined its plans to outpace Samsung with the launch of its 2013 flagship.
All in all, selling 5 million devices is an encouraging sign for HTC, especially if the company can keep this pace in the coming months.

Incredible stuff by HTC, thats 5million within a month WITH supply issues to deal with, I just knew this would be the one Android that would at least try give the Galaxy S4 a good bit of competition and it has truly done that and more, in the following weeks we may just see the One catching up now that the supply issues are dealt with.
I remember someone around here saying the Htc One would not be a threat to Sony's Xperia Z, seems the One is already closing in on the Z and will probably pass it on its chase to the GS4 and iPhone.

On some sites such as Phone Dog the people's choice voting has been the HTC One at No.1 for weeks now ahead of GS4. All this is after a top official has stepped down from HTC yesterday. It's early yet to tell but even if this handset does well can it save HTC overall?? It's good though a cracking handset

I'm just so glad it's doing well, I'm more happy about the Htc One selling 5mill than the Galaxy S4 doing 10mill, Htc are like the really good underdog. It has received great reviews, I actually watched the Dogfight between it and GS4 on Phonedog, Aaron couldn't make his mind up and so said it was a tie.
Who knows what will happen to HTC, last I checked they were making a profit which in the end is the whole point so it may keep them just afloat, but this shows that they are fully capable of keeping up with the big dogs and it also shows that OEMs don't have to follow Samsung in making ever bigger screens, the One is very well differentiated thanks to its design and slightly smaller footprint.

Well, well, well. Looks like the someone saying the HTC One wouldn't be a threat to the Xperia Z turned out to be right, with more solid numbers available now...

Indeed. I still am unable to find the HTC One in Black + 64GB for N. American LTE bands. I know gsm arena has one listed to ship later this year with 2 SIM card slots.
Between this, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, and upcoming Motorola X (not sure I should give Moto another chance, yet todays monsoon like rain in Toronto leaving me soaked; twice - to jits practice after work, and again walking home the IP57 has me focused heavily as my Z10 almost died). I'm still looking for details on BB A10 "hero" device, BB really REALLY needs one and so does its faithful users.
