P800 and Sync with Lotus Notes R6 |

I just bought P800 and like it very much. But....
I have LNotes R6 and experience problems syncronising my contacts and calendar. Jotter does not even provide an option for sync for some strange reason. For whatever reason my tasks sync OK.
Did anyone face similar problems and can suggest any solutions.

I have now investigated the matter more thoroughly. Here are the results and findings.
Results - P800 still does not syncronise.
Set up - My PC runs LNotes R6 client on a R5 server environment. My mailbox and addressbook are R6 design.
Problems - I discovered that P800 sync software (which is version 1.1.1) does see the databases. It syncronises all the tasks without visible problems. It started to syncronise occasional Calendar entries however it is not possible to determine the pattern in which it chooses which entries to sync. It seems that as soon as sync soft determines a problematic entry the whole sync process stops and states that sync is complete.
In contacts when i manually resave entries they are synced OK. But as soon as it finds an entry which was not resaved it stops the sync process and does not try to go any further. Again it is saying that sync is complete. I tried to install an R5 design contacts database on LN R6 client. In whichever way i tried moving entries to this database it still did not sync. Finally I tried to run a macro resaving all contacts and again it did not work.
Tomorrow I am planning to re-install R5 LN soft on a different PC to see if this can help sync my P800.
I would be interested in any thoughts or experience sharing from other LN users.

I am having qualified success syncing R6 with my P800. Since the software only supports Notes R5, I had to first hack the registry (I'm using XP Pro) to fool the sync software into thinking I have R5. This allows the software to see the R6 databases. When I sync, Contacts go across fine, To Do's also are OK. Calendar does not sync at all. It goes through Initializing, then quickly does Analyzing, Transferring data to phone, and Synchronize complete. But no entries appear on the phone. I have heard of others getting complete success with R6, but so far, nobody has identified why it works on some but not others.
In order to get Calendar entries to my P800, I use XTNDConnect PC to sync Notes 6 with Organizer 6. I then can use the P800 software to sync Organizer 6 with the P800. Cumbersome, but it does the job. |

I will try to do these tricks tomorrow.
The most funny thing is that my calendar is partially synced.

Hi,
I had sync problems with LN5. It just didn't work. Now I found a workaround. First I upgraded the PC suite to the latest version (1.5.1). Then I specified in the Sync Station Settings to sync with the local database (on my laptop) instead of sync with the server database. Specify the complete string to the database to sync with (C:\Lotus\Notes\Data\yourname.nsf).
Now I first have to replicate the server database with the local database on my laptop, and then sync my laptop with the phone.
This way it works fine.
