That's because every generation of WP phones uses the same SoC. There would be no point at all in comparing them, the Ativ S, Lumia 920 and Htc 8X use the same Snapdragon S4 if I'm not mistaken, it's one of my many reasons for not liking WP, only Qualcomm make their SoCs, there is no competition whatsoever between SoC manufacturers there, Qualcomm has a monopoly in WP.

And it continues to get better:

Exynos-based Samsung Galaxy S4 benchmarks surface, head and shoulders above Snapdragon competition
By now you probably already know that the Samsung Galaxy S4 comes in two versions.

The first one will ship in the United States and most of the Western world equipped with a Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip. There is also another one for most of Asia and the rest of the world featuring Samsung’s own Exynos 5 Octa chip.

SamMobile has now done the inside digging to find out that right now there are 3 Galaxy S4 models:

GT-I9500 – Exynos 5 Octa 1.6 GHz without LTE
GT-I9505 – Snapdragon 600 1.9 GHz with LTE
SHV-E300S – Exynos 5 Octa 1.8 GHz with LTE

What is particularly interesting though is that for the first time we are getting to see the Exynos 5 Octa-based Galaxy S4 benchmarked and the results are much higher than what the Snapdragon 600 S4 yields.

A GT-I9500 Galaxy S4 with Exynos 5 Octa scores 28 018 points on popular synthetic benchmark AnTuTu, while Snapdragon 600 GT-I9505 model gets varying results but definitely lower in the vicinity of 23 to 25 000.

What’s even more exciting is that the Korean version should be the first phone to score over 30 000 points and become the world’s most powerful smartphone. This of course won't make much of a difference in daily use for most users, but Korean nerds will definitely have the most to brag about.

The main point of octa core was for battery saving. If it can give out better battery performance under similar usage as compared to s600, then I guess its a win? I am no longer focused on benchmarks as I used to be earlier.

@Tsepz_gp,

The link is here

Exactly, people do seem to miss this, the A7 cores are there for power saving while the A15 cores are there for heavier tasks.
Thanks for the link btw

Did you even read my post? Why are you posting antutu benchmark results all the time ? I've seen those and those are not different than what I posted.

Where are better results in Quadrant, Epic Citadel, Vellamo, 3D Mark benchmark etc???????????

So your claim is also crap like Octa marketing as you can't accept the truth and nor do you have proof to prove those scores wrong.

I posted already in my post that Antutu scores are better than S600 but rest are worse.

You were bragging so much how Exynos always beats Qualcomm chips extracting "best" performance. Where is the proof now to back up your tall claims ?

Except Antutu and 1 or 2 other silly benchmarks, S600 outperforms the OCTA chip easily.

Worse performance with ZERO developer support. Indeed the best performance

The benchmarks I posted are AnTuTu, Quadrant and the latest Basemark, check the PhoneArena links, it got +12700 in Quadrant, the Exynos beat the S600 in those plus Geekbench and you say it easily beats the Exynos? hilarious, I guess you call the others silly becuase the results do not favour your favourote manufacturer. We are yet to see the complete results from Anandtech and GLbenchmark that is the problem, but from ALL these early results its easy to see the Exynos is the best SoC found on Android you'll just have to get over that, even if the S600 was better its a chip found in the GS4 so either way making the GS4 the best Android around, but it unfortunately isn't the better chip. We should see Epic Citadel, Vellamo, 3D Mark benchmark benchmarks once Samsung begin churning out more Exynos GS4s, but current benchmarks already show the Exynos got this.

Fine. LEt's see what Anandtech review reveals.

I have no hope Octa will outperform S600. You'll see too.

And the Quadrant score is only at par with S600. Some S600 devices outscore the Octa. So a win in Antutu, tie in Quadrant and tie or loss in others.

Keep dreaming

Phone Arena have NO idea how to conduct proper camera tests. They compare the GS4 with the Nokia Lumia 920. The shot with the man standing with his wooly hat on and several others on the Samsung I am sorry to say are over exposed and often blurry. The Lumia is correctly exposed and not blurry(Optical image stabilizer anyone) Really poor camera tests

http://www.phonearena.com/rev[....]-Nokia-Lumia-920_id3294/page/3

And where they get these dark shots on the Lumia from I never know I can do way better than that for a shot. The Lumia lets in way more light

Exactly.

There is no doubt the the Octo version performs better in benchmarks, but tbh not hugely better than Samsung's overclocked 1.9 Krait S600 and in real day performance you probably won't see the difference unless you are running a very intense task. The truth is the S600 in the S4 is still blisteringly fast.

Battery is a different matter and nothing has come out on this yet (probably because it's not an easy test to do) - my understanding is that the s600 is fairly efficient and shouldn't cause any dramas - again we don't know what the Octo can do but I wouldn't be surprised if the scores are a bit like the power benchmark, better but only by a couple of hours more.

Don't forget most people (me included probably) will get the overclocked s600 which still managed to be as good as the One X and Z and much faster than the Exynos S3 (which I still consider really quick) so if it's anything to go by both versions and going to be mighty. However I do believe a "placebo" effect comes into effect with all this power - can you really notice it?
