Taipei, Feb. 28 (CNA) Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp.'s new flagship model, the HTC One, won the biggest annual prize Thursday at the Mobile World Congress tech fair in the Spanish city of Barcelona. The new HTC phone was named the winner of the "Best New Mobile Handset, Device or Tablet at Mobile World Congress 2013," beating other nominees from big brand names such as Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G Pro, Nokia 105 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Launched Feb. 19 in London and New York, the HTC One sports a 4.7-inch display with full-HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 1.7-gigahertz quad-core processor and a new "UltraPixel" camera that enables ultra-sharp photo shooting and video recording, according to the company. The Android-powered model also features a cutting-edge audio technology called " HTC BoomSound" that offers dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers, used in a mobile phone for the first time, HTC said.

Well and truly deserved by HTC, its a very well rounded smartphone, all they have to worry about now is the GALAXY S IV, seems the HTC One and GS4 will be the Androids to have in 2013, it reminds me of 2010 when it was tight competition between the Htc Desire and Galaxy S1 while other OEMs had to fight for scraps.

Congratulations to HTC. And congratulations to Samsung for winning the Best Smartphone category with the Galaxy S III.
It was not much of a competition this year except from Xperia Z and Optimus G Pro. No phones from Samsung, Motorola or Nokia.

That is your opinion. We do not know yet what GS4 will bring.
